Nerf Gun Props? YES!

Here's a pic of me with my M41a modded Nerf Stampede from Dragoncon. It was kind of a rush job and I am working on it again to finish it up and clean up the grenade launcher but as it is here I did get some praise for it that night. I really like the Stampede variation of the M41a, I'll be using it again in future cons! USCM DCON2015.png

I don't know how you guys feel about cross-posting, but I am proud of my stuff and so here goes...

Nerf Magnum made into a Borderlands Torgue Bad Touch Bangstick.

Nerf Retaliator (?) into a Borderlands Hyperion Solid transmurdera.

Both are non-funtional. I have more stuff on my facebook or deviantart pages.

I got myself a little rotary tool (a Dremel clone) and decided that a proper celebration required the utter destruction of something.

I wanted to have a play around with some rusting techniques that I've seen used to great effect too. This one uses liquid masking film and ground spices for a slightly different look, and it comes up smelling really nice too :D

Love the rust technique... any link you could hook me up with?

This is the youtube tutorial that I got the original idea from: Tutorial - Cheapest Way To Rust A Model Car
It really is ridiculously easy - the only difference was that I started with a base coat of rust red which I weathered slightly before applying the liquid mask and the met-blue, then I used more rust red to adhere the spices in the appropriate places (rather than the all-over technique in the tutorial vid). After that there was one more black wash for added grimy-ness and a bit of thinned out rust dribbled over the brassy-looking bits. ;)

PS. thanks for the positive vibes all :)

Hey, I happened to find one of these for about $2 at the Goodwill without the magazine or any additional accessories. Does this ring any bells for anyone for anything film/TV related? I swear I've seen this somewhere before.

I have had the Star Lord mini blaster sitting on my desk for way too long and got sick of the orange and blue.

The only mod was cutting the dart flush with the end of the barrel and filling it with hot glue.
The screw holes were filled with hot glue.
The carbon fiber effect on the grips was carbon and then silver dry brushed onto the little rectangles and then given a double coat of future floor polish.

Just got into the NERF customization game maybe a month ago, so don't judge too harshly lol. These are my first projects. You definitely learn A LOT from each one and from mistakes, and then fixing the mistakes. Hopefully I can continue to get them better and better. The painting is definitely helping me practice for my EVA projects. RipSTAR STRONGARM.jpgSCATTER BLASTER RIPSTAR.jpgP3 Logo.jpg
