Need your help identifying this PROP

A manager at my work has asked if I would get some help identifying some props that have been found and/or sitting around at work.

here is the first one.

What show is it from? Can someone find screen caps?

I wish I had a prize or gift to give out. I am working on compensation ideas with the boss.

Well it is a start. A bit of functionality about this prop. The red tip in the barrel is actualy the butt end of a mini-maglight. the barrel is screwed into the flashlight as you see. When you turn the barrel it turns on the light in back illuminating the two red square light covers.

The little pin in the handle (attached to the string) pulls out making the trigger functional. Although when trigger is pulled nothing happens. It is just on a spring.

Anyone else have ideas?

1st, I love the Dunder Mifflin mug supporting the weapon.

2nd, it really looks like the heat gun I used to shrink wrap CDs, DVDs, and video games at the Second Time Around store I worked at in high school. I know that doesn't help to figure out where it came from.

Are those.... LEGO studs on top?? The two red squares?

It's simply amazing at what you can make with a box full of random items. I'm beginning to think the prop guys in Hollywood are the real geniuses. Not the director, or the actors. :cool

Anyway, it might help if we knew where this prop came from or how you got it? What do you and your boss do? Where do you work?

god! I know that prop! but I can't for the life of me remember where from! grrrrr

I hate when this happens, now I won't be able to get it out my head until I find out where its from...

Those aren't lego studs they are LED covers.

We work for the largest prop rental, manufacturing, graphics house in california. This is a prop left over when cleaning out a prop master's truck. Instead of throwing it away we kept it.

I was thinking it was from something like judge dread. Just for refrence that is a shot glass holding up the prop in the photos.

I have started another identify thread here

Are there any copyright dates or year markings on the props base pieces to help at least narrow down the year it was not made before.

There are no dates I can see. This is a "made thing". Other then the mini-maglight inside the barrel, I believe it is all manufactured. We have been talking and one guy at work is convinced it is from a Stallone movie.

Wait...

"they" tried to do a remake of Flash Gordon..... A TV show? Next thing youre gonna tell me is Joey Tribbiani got his own Friends spin off.
