Need some help with etching.

I need to etch some emblems into pvc. What's the best way to transfer the image onto the plastic?

Depending on what you are using to do the etching, you could try a wood burning method. Take a full scale paper image of your badge, tape it over the etching site and etch through the template.

A CNC router would do a better job, but with a much greater price tag. Perhaps you can check online to see if anyone in your local area has one and you can get them do do it for an agreed price.

Cnc is a bit over kill for what I'm doing. But the wood burning gives me an idea. I was just planning on using my dremel with an engraving bit. If I get the image printed on sticker paper, it won't move around, then just peel it off. Any residue left should come off when prepping it for the finish. Thoughts?

Adhesive backed printer paper, the kind for removable labels, works well. Just print, cut out the shape with a hobby knife, peel and stick. Here is what I have used for that in the past...
