Hey Space rangers!

im doing a buzz lightyear out of camping mat foam.Ive talked to a couple of people and did some searching on painting.the popular base coat seems to be flexbond by rosco or plasti dip. I have little to no access to these out here in montana. Plasti dip is pretty expensive for what i need.Flexbond is to expensive to ship. I was wondering if anyone has used elmers "glue all" as a base coat or mod podge. I was planning to use master design for the paint and master shine for the finish.

i have access to micheal's,home depot and lowes. At this point id hate to put in all the work and get a crappy paint job done.
thanks rpf you are all talented and i apprecate any input.

If you're looking for Plasti Dip, it should be available at your local Home Depot and Lowes. It's normally used for adding a rubberized "handle" to tools just by dipping.

yeah i edited to clarify.. but its pretty expensive out here.it was around 13 bucks at lowes i think for the spray.

I've used mod podge quite a bit but for paper mache to look like metal (not that great) and on top of craft foam to make it look like metal or leather (pretty convincing).

It's inexpensive enough, if I were you, I'd get a small container and just try it out to see how you like it.

Good news i called rosco direct and got me hooked up to the lowest price they could find for me. *sigh*..so those of you who have worked with flex bond would you suggest it as a final clear coat or something else? does it have a glossy finish? thanks again for your input. :)
