NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! WITH IRONMAN HELMET..small grooves...any advise would be great

Hi everyone i'm new here and just discovered this site and pepakura here in my first project. need help on how to cut out the grooves along the side and top! any ideas? thanks

you can either use a dremel with a very low rotation, and a sanding head, or, which i would prefer, a popsicle stick with sandpaper wrapped around, and something like a metal ruler as guide

thanks for the info but there must be a fast and clean way i tried the dremel by the eyes but i don't think it would work on the rest cause the line has to arch.??????

i printed an extra set of pepakura pages to use as a template for mine. I drew them on in pencil following the curve of the template paper. Then i used the dremel to start the groove (I cut very very shallow). After the groove was started I have been using detail files to make it deeper and wider.

if you pick up the diamond coated cutting disk for the dremel you can use that to cut your very thin starter lines because the disk is made of thin steel, not fiberglass. i definitely recommend finishing the grooves by hand as it is far too easy to slip and ruin your work

If the Dremel's not working out for you, have you considered using a Scribe & template??

As you would to improve on a model kit, like this:
