I'm looking to make some simple acrylic cases and I'm in need of acrylic sheets and 1/2" diameter clear acrylic rods. Does anyone know of a provider that could supply these items cut to size ready to go?

Also, I need a good adhesive for gluing acrylic that dries clear and wont fog up the plastic?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

I use acetone for welding the acrylic. You can put it in a syringe and if you have the edges butted up to each other capilary action will spread it in between the joint. the edges have to be smooth and flat though. Then just clamp it down.

Weld on #3. Its vwhat the professionals use.

Weld on is the only thing I have used on acrylic that has held. It makes an instant bond and gets stronger over a month. Believe me, I've tried all kinds of super glue, epoxy, nothing else would work.

For acrylic in custom sizes check ebay. There are a couple delers that auction standard sizes and thicknesses but have ebay stores that provide a variety of options.

We've used clear bathroom silicone that you can get from any hardware store in the past (look at your aquarium if you have one to see what I mean).

However, this would mean covering the corners with a wooden/plastic moulding.
