Hello Folks
Need a little help. I'm doing a ESB DL-44 from a toy and some Shapeways parts and I was wondering if in the attached it looks like I've "cut" enough of the Barrel off for the Flash Hider. The current distance from the back of the FH to the front of the "magazine is 2 1/2 inches. Sorry for the picture quality I used my Nook!! Thank You!!!

What does the muzzle end of the flash hider look like?

I ask because the ESB versions have the "barrel through the hider" look where the barrel pokes out anywhere from 1/2 way to flush with the end of the device. So most don't have to cut anything off

Hello Solos blaster

The guy who designed the Flash Hider I purchased on Shapeways never intended for the barrel to go through to the front of the piece. As a result of this design the front of the flash hider needs to be "opened" to look and work as you describe. That sort of mod is not a big deal (couple of seconds with a drill) but I hope I have not chopped off too much of the barrel already so the finished product will still look presentable.

Thanks for the Help, GREATLY Appreciated!!!

Glad I could help.

I hate to say it, but it will be too short either way because you don't cut the barrel on the ESB model.

However, you could probably epoxy the cut portion into the flashhider before mounting it to the barrel. Maybe take more off from the portion of barrel you cut off to make sure you have enough barrel to secure it and support the weight of the barrel/flash hider weight.

There are lots of other ESB build threads on here to if you get stuck or need ideas :).
