NBC's Revolution - Charlie's Lunchbox build

Hey all! Does not look like there is much chatter about this awesome show. Very dissappointing, considering there are some cool props throughout.

I have decided to build Charlie's lunchbox that was seen in the pilot. I just picked up a rusty ROTJ tin lunchbox on eBay for $22.00! Great find, considering it would be worse for the wear somewhere over 36 years old if the blackout were 2012. Not going to do anything to that but give it a good scrub.

Next up is the interior:

We see Charlie rummaging through a couple of postcards (one which we do not see on screen.) NBC was nice enough to post these puppies online at Revolution - Official NBC Site. They include 'Wrigley Field', 'Chicago skyline', 'New York', and 'Statue of Liberty' (which I assume is the hidden card.) I also found a 'Hollywood' photo online that I am looking into the validity of its onscreen prescience. Plain and simple, I used print screen and cropped them in paint. Next step there is to get some printed on glossy cardstock just like an actual postcard. Also am going to add some information to the reverse sides as well.

We also see a PEZ dispenser that with a little research proves to be a Wonder Woman dispenser. Picked that up for $3.49 shipped on eBay as well.

Next is the Rubick's Cube. Looks like a standard model but I need to screenshot it on higher an zoom to make sure I have the right edition. If I was not worried about accuracy then you can pick up a generic on eBay for under $5 shipped. May go that route.

Lastly we have the iPod. It looks like a 6th generation black model to me. Not too many of those out there cheap. Found a broken one for under $40 on eBay. This will be the last item to work on as I may consider buying the shell minus the guts and piecing it together.

A Swiss army knife has also been mentioned on some blogs. I do not remember it from the pilot but if it is I will find it too.

As far as a replica this is just a found parts build besides the postcards. Not too in depth, which is what I need right now since I have a two year old and a two month old.

Love the show and will post pics as they are available.

Also can not wait to pick up on of replicaprops pendants and hoping someone will take a stab at the '6 republics' map shown in Monroe's tent.

Thanks for reading!

i wish you luck on the Ipod. I need one for my metal gear solid 4 display. I'm assuming it's a 2008 model since that's when the game came out. They were nice enough to have all the info on the back at least.

Not part of Charlie's lunchbox but something equally cool. I downloaded the map of the US territory posted by Entertainment Weekly and printed the map on a 30" long piece of wood.

Received my lunchbox in the mail and my Pez dispensor. Look great. Picked up the dimensions of a standard postcard and plan to start writing the reverse info this coming week.

Should be able to pick up the Rubik's cube next month sometime and going to try for an ipod too.

Guess I need to work on a screenshot of the disc and dollar to authenticate them. Where is that 'brass disc' and dollar located in the lunchbox? Is it seen after the postcards are taken out?

Prop Medjai - does the entertainment weekly map have the actual names of the city's or are they blurred out? Be nice to have those identified and a LOTR/Narnia quality map made up.

I found a second photo to conform the prescence of the bronze coin, the dollar bill, the Swiss Army knife, the hula doll, and the addition of a unidentifiable Silly Band.

If anyone recognizes the shape of the Silly Band please post that information. It seems as for now it and the bronze coin are the only things we may not be able to immediately get our hands on.

I snagged another shot for you. When I get time I will grab some frame by frames . The bronze coin looks like a medal to me and there is a 4 birthday candle in the top left of the box, as well as some pink plastic thing by the hula bobble.

I don't know if this will help, but the pink rubber band looking thing (Silly Band?) looks like it's in the shape of a crab. I've really enjoyed this show so far, cool prop by the way.

Unfortunately, the names of the individual cities are tiny and pretty much unreadable. I was surprised to get the quality I got when I printed it.

distractions :D The polka dot candle is the one you will want. I have the rubik's cube shown, it is just a common model made from 2009 on i think, has the logo on the center white square. Your Hula girl find is also the best one I have seen. I have been hunting that damn silly-band and I can not find it in any themed set so best I can think is it comes from a sampler style pack.

I will also see about getting a good copy of the photo of her parents. might be able to snag that right from the recording. Will post back with more details as I find them :D

Don't know if you're still making this or not, or if you've seen the last few episodes...

In one of the more recent episodes she tore up all the post cards in the box

I've been lurking on here for since I discovered it yesterday, and had to join so I could share what I found, The pink crab is a shaped rubber band from Expressions, specifically the Beach collection Expressions Beach Bandz Pack - Silly Bandz & Animal Bracelets Blog I'm sure if you could find a source that had multiple Beach packages you could sort through it and find the pink one.

What is the blue thing in the upper left corner? it looks like another shaped rubber band but the cut out triangle makes me think that it isnt.

Msimcox,

Thanks for the heads up. Great find!!! We are all forever in your debt. Just bought three packs on Amazon. Here's to the crap shoot of getting a pink crab...

Arasoi,

Plan on picking up the Hula girl soon.

Also, on the candle, I see what you mean on polka dots but the stroke extending from the main shaft on the candle seems too skinny. Also, I would really like to verify (from a screen shot if the numeral is of a serif font or sans serif. Any help anyone?
