National Treasure props- list, show off, and discussion

Re: My National Treasure props

On the Silence Dogood letters so far there is nothing on the original letters ever being found. I've heard back from one Franklin website and they are not aware of the originals ever being found. That makes sense as they were surely tossed after they were transferred to print.

Will update if I find anything.

Re: My National Treasure props

My first piece has arrived, if you don't count the $100 bill in my computer file.

I now own a plastic DOI tube. The grey one from inside the leather documnet carrier. Looked more white in the movie to me but I got it.

I really need some time to watch the movies again.

Re: My National Treasure props

Updated the first post with links to Taz's Abigail Washington collection interest discussion, Hotshot's new Olmec Plank Run and misc other stuff

Re: My National Treasure props

Got my 1789 Inagural Medallion today. Awesome!!!!!!!!!

That brings my current collection to 2 pieces. A coin and a plastic tube:lol

Several others on the way

Re: My National Treasure props

Can anyone help with:

The size and a screen grab or pic of the Mount Vernon map?????

I tried PMing the guy who used to make them but have not heard back

Also does anyone have a screengrab or pic of the brick symbol?????

One last one. Can anyone tell me why the JFK Slain paper is considered a N.T. 2 prop??????

Just watched it again for the first time in a long time and never saw it.

Thanks

Re: My National Treasure props

The JFK slain paper is just part of the information contained within the Presidents Secret Book and didn't play any part within the movie itself.

The only reason I like it is because the original maker of the BOS (Ross McDonald) displays his replica books with it. I just consider it big "insert"

Re: My National Treasure props

Wasn't someone here working on some sort of repo of the Bell from the Charlotte ship?

Re: My National Treasure props

The World's cheapest N.T. prop.

I'll give you a clue. The Secret lies with Charlotte

The $1 his grandpa shows him. Should look real nice next to the Charlotte note

NEW N.T. PROP

Not sure if this has been discussed but I did not find anything here about it.

Get ready to spend more. I thought the folding chair/stool/ladder young Ben uses at the begining of N.T. to get the treasure book down from a shelf would be a neat addition to my N.T. prop collection. It would be the chair at the desk I'm going to display my stuff on.

Anywho I found an incorrect one on ebay but it has a curved design. There are ones just like the movie around like the one here

It would need to be darkened and aged to match the movie.

Here is the best part. It was designed by Benjamin Franklin

Re: My National Treasure props

Does anyone know what size and type of book Ben has on the Charlette that he uses to make the bloody note????

I'm thinking of getting one and when Brenton makes the note that goes with the pipe having him make it the same size as the book and then paste it in.

Re: My National Treasure props

@ jameth1971:
The Newspaper was seen in the movie! In the scene where they show the page with the entry of A. Lincoln (1865) about the informations of Queen Victoria ... look at the right side. A little part of the newspaper can be seen ;D
But it was just for filling the book. Like all the other pages. They created just 10 or 15 pages with "imagined" text. All the other ones are copys of original speaches and texts from the presidents.

Could be wrong, but it really has the look of one of those small Moleskine brand notebooks

Re: My National Treasure props

Brenton/Relicmaker has offered to stamp anyone's Ben Gates notebook (See above link) with the bloody clue. It's $10. Just send it to him with a Self Addressed, Stamped Return Envelope.

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

PM Relicmaker for details

I already had him do mine a couple months ago. :thumbsup
