National Treasure: Book of Secrets - INSERTS

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Am I not in the free paper thread?
Well, you are :)
But Jedifyfe and marsattacks were discussing trading, and Montagar still hasn't replied yet(atleast not as I can see), but if he replies a no to trading, I will offer it for free ;)

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

I have got a question about the book of secret seal.
I know that this one was used to create it. But as you can see in this one are arrows and no scroll.

Can anyone of re-create the original "BOS-seal" one with the scroll?

Was the wrong seal really used on the Book of Secrets replica made here? I just assumed they used the one holding the scroll. No offense intended to those who put many, many hours of hard work into creating it, but with the level of attention and dedication put into the project, I would be a little shocked that they overlooked such a small detail like that and instead chose to use the incorrect seal. Especially since the correct seal is the iconic equivalent of the book itself.

I don't have one of the BOS's, but I would think they used the correct seal.

Here's one I found online showing the eagle clutching the scroll in its left talon instead of the arrows:

PS-if no BOS seal exists, I'd be more than happy to create one. :)

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Not exactly, They did use the eagle clutching the scroll but its the wrong eagle. The eagle used on Sectors book are correct to the filmed original in design and size, the one used on Taz and Mars' books is the more updated eagle and of a different size.

Edit: received closer vew of eagle:

The seal Mars and Taz used is the correct BOS one - ie. the Eagle holding the scroll not the arrows...

WELL if you wanted to be picky, hmmmm
I would tell the guy who stuck that button (propapalooza) to rethink the position of that bottom one. AND YOUR cover lid is too long. Your seal is printed , the real one was debossed and ours is burnt!
Also the size we used is the correct size and since you did not buy one of our books , furthermore earlier last year you were trying to collect information from us, I would not go around saying "WRONG SIZES" , and updated EAGLE??????
If I am not mistaken , you asked TAZ for information to build your own and showed us those same pictures , but in the later thread you stated you bought this book from someone else and was waiting to receive it and yet you are creating inserts??????
DID you buy an unfinished book or empty? or are you building your own?
I do not mind criticism , but it would have to be from someone that has or has seen the book in person and can actually make an assesment.

How could you possibly measure the correct size of the seal by a picture??

Concerning the EAGLE , Ross may have taken that eagle and changed the arrows for the scroll, as posted by VOSSART , We on the other hand took a different eagle and changed the arrow for the scroll, it is our version .
Sorry mate , i have to clarify this but I would not go saying things when i do not have the facts or the book!!

and for the record , I am pretty sure this thread was clarified already by Brad.
it was purely a trade only for the inserts??
I think it is a great idea, as some of these inserts would have taken a very long time to make.

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

the link i posted will show you the seal Ross MacDonald used to create the BOSs seal.
they deleted the arrows from ti and put the scroll in it..
my question is just, if anyone from the forum would be able to re-create the boss seal with the link i posted.

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

I personally and totally understood your question in the first post, it was the other 2 members that decided to mention our book for no reason, maybe they did not understand your question, now to add again , none of those 2 have seen or bought our book, nor have they read our sale thread.
I find it disturbing and insulting to somewhat discredit us or our book as far as OUR knowledge on this prop, when that particular person was asking for help from us last year to make their own book.

We knew about that seal a year ago and made it crystal clear that we were doing OUR own version. Ross still sells the book for $5000.
No one here has stepped up to say they have bought one of ROss"s nor I would have expected those that have to share any info after paying a premium price.
So we decided to do it our way, and let us not forget the price we charged compared to his.

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Mars I'm sorry if you took my post as an attack on your replica I think you guys did an excellent job creating your own version of the book. You are correct I do not own one of your books or even the book I posted pictures of and your confusing me with the builder.
You are correct I did want one of your books until I found you guys were going in another direction with it then what we saw on film, again no problem with that but it wasn't what I was looking for so another builder on another board contacted me and I'm purchasing one of his as it represents the filmed book.
So again I apologize to you both, my intent was to answer a question about the use of the eagle and which one was correct. The eagle is either 2 1/4 or 2 3/4 I forget but I'll ask for clarification.
If either of you feel it needs to be discussed further please pm me and I'm sure we can iron out any differences I'm new and not looking to make trouble.
Brad I'm sorry this got off topic! now back to the news...

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

you did not answer the question to VOSSART!!
Vossart asked if there was anyone that can reproduce the eagle he posted, where did he ask whether ours was the one used or not?
and if you like to answer it then do so, our book has nothing to do with your answer, as he did not ask you if OUR seal was screen acurate.
there is no need to discuss anything outside this thread , we have nothing to say privately .
BUT while in topic i would like to ask a few questions if you have the time to answer?
the book you "ordered" is this from a member that was banned from here for recasting???
Is the book full of stories??
is it a copy of Ross's?
whos inserts does it have?
why did you need all those measurements last year?
so as you can imagine ... the reasons to WHY our book is made this way!

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

This is the question that I was directing my post too.

To your questions:

the book you "ordered" is this from a member that was banned from here for recasting??? No
Is the book full of stories?? yes
is it a copy of Ross's? not 100% to my knowledge
whos inserts does it have? my own in exchange for reduced cost on book
why did you need all those measurements last year?I never asked you for measurements on your book

Re: National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Okay guys. Calm down.

Mars and Taz's book is obviously not screen accurate BUT that is not why it is friggin cool as hell!

The way it is made, the stories, the inserts just the amazing look and feel of it, is why it's cool.
Like Mars said, if you want screen accurate buy the $5000 book because even if the seal is correct and the size is the same, no one will ever get 100% accuracy.

Now, back to the thread!

Here is my version of the Booth page...hope you like it :confused
The letters do not fit 100 % in size to the (outside) shape of the page,
if you look close (last line, left side). Maybe i will rework it.

I've enclosed a PDF file with the writting only, so you may print it on a paper of your choice.
