Nabbed a Trek Tool case!

I nabbed this Cannon case on ebay recently. It's Chief O'Brien's tool box on DS9. This is the golden-Trek-box for me and I am VERY happy I was able to get it.

I've been collecting screen grabs of the case and the tools. I think I have identified maybe two distinclty different "designs" of this case from DS9.

In both incarnations I almost belive that the case was painted a lighter shade of gray.

And you can see the canon label is covered up or removed and framed with chrome tape here. Since the inside of the frame is the same color as the outside case surface, I am leaning towards painting as a serious option for my case.

Get that bad boy painted. Good find dude. What's the model number on the case, on the off chance that someone else might want to scour ebay for it. Awesome stuff.

Looks like they painted it with good old 7173 before the reformulation of it. Shouldn't be too hard to match.

Oh, And I took a good long look over it. I could not find any model numbers on it. there is "PAT P" on the inside of the latches, but that's not too useful (Patent Pending?)

Its a Canon case, though.

nope, the 7173 is retired. Looks like there's a couple choices from Dupli-color that are pretty close. DSGM478 Med. Marblehead Met, or 326 SilverSand. I've never used either, so I can't be of much more help than that.

Did you get the camera along with the case? If so, the model number of the camera could also help people find the right case.

On a side note: I always thought this case was from Panasonic...? :confused

I have been using Dupli-Color DSGM 344 Gunmetal on my PADDs. It's a bit dark but a satisfying gray. I'll look for DSGM 478 Med. Marblehead Met.

I did get a non-working camera with it. It's a Canon H460 Hi8.
