Just in time to put on a mannequin for CV!

I think I want to weather the pouches and front & back "flaps". I'm afraid to weather the robe though. It's so nice and clean looking, even if that's not accurate. It's by far the hottest thing I've ever worn! Not to mention near zero visibility. I have to look out the small screened area in the front center.

I have some boots on order, so you won't always see my toes peaking out.

Wow, is the whole thing made from upholstery vinyl? No wonder it's hot!

Personally I'd say weather the whole thing. But that's just me :)

Otherwise, nice to see someone showing some Zuckuss love!

eh, that sounds weird...

Whatever the vinyl is that Jo-Ann's sells on the back shelf. The robe is made from a nice feeling, low gloss material. It has a real leather look. I lined it with brown cloth, too. It's very heavy.

I want to weather it, but I don't want to do a crap job. I've discovered that shoe polish will stain the vinyl, so I'll use brown polish on the pouches and flaps. The robe, though, looks as if it was made from a piece of 100 years old tarp. So making that room good would be tought. And I don't want to fudge it up. Plus the weathering is lighter than the material. I tested some white shoe scuff cover stuff, which is basically white shoe polish. It sticks well, but my testing looked terrible. It's too white, too. I need a beige, which I didn't see.

I made everything (minus the mask, hoses and canister...I made the hoses and canister last year) in about a week's time. Oh, I made the eyes last year, too. The mask I bought.

Now back to IG-88!

Very cool Scott!

Where did you get that mask? I've never seen one that looked that good.

Yeah, I suggest NOT wearing it at C5! You will have a heatstroke! Deffinately a manniquin type of thing this time of year.

Rolling around in the dirt some should help to weather it along with working on your car with it on. You have to figure that as a bounty hunter Zuckuss would probably have spent a lot of time crawling around the ground in various places while chasing his quarry as well as possibly tinkering with his ship and the lower parts of planets like Coruscant look pretty grungy so he would have gotten stains and dirt from skulking around back alleys.

I picked up the mask on Ebay for only $100. I made the eyes by gluing rubber non-skid half spheres to a plastic dome and then making a mold. I used transparent resin to make the pair, though they're not useful for looking at. They do make pretty light patterns looking out of them, though. I painted some "hologram" glass paint to give them an irredescent look.

The weathering needs to have a certain look, so I can't just throw grease on it. I have some ideas, though. I'm not planning on wearing this to CV. It will be part of the Bounty Hunter mannequin display I'm putting together in the 501st room. We'll have all six of the ESB bounty hunters.

Oh, I wasn't recommending that you just simply throw grease, or anything else for that matter, on it I was thinking more along the lines of putzing around under the hood of your car with it on and not being too careful about where you lean on or about wiping your hands on the robe. Then maybe after you've gotten a little grease you could roll around in the dirt right after to really dirty it up.

Man, that's AWESOME. I saw a Zuckuss at SW in Concert here in NH and I just about crapped. You don't see him that often--really distinctive and cool. Good luck with the weathering!
