My Wifes Halo costume

I was just going though some of my picture files and came across these. I made this for my wife for halloween 2009. The pictures where taken before the feet where finished, but you get the idea. It's base is pepakura (paper and fiberglass). The forearms are an altered stormtrooper forearm and the bicep is an cross between Halo and Ironman. I manually manipulated the files to give it a more...female look :)

I like it, then again i always like to see modified suits for women (i.e. storm troopers, boba fett, etc..). I think it came out great.

Thanks. I dig the female conversions, too.

OMG you gotta finish that power armor!

I need to fix the helmet, it's too flat. I think thats why I stopped working on it. I made templates on 24"x36" sheet paper. I've got the shoulders, arms and chest templates. THe rest of the templates are in multiple states of completion. I bet this build would work with foam, too.I But, need to finish my Ironman first.

Love the texture you got on the Fallout armour!! How'd you accomplish that?

Thanks,

The secret is 'Bondo' brand rubber undercoating. I've tried other brands and they just don't have the right texture.

i really like that female spartan stuff... did you make them?? if so do u offer the armor parts in raw form

im really digging how the chest and back look..

That power armor actually looks like it was turning out really well, you should pick it back up.

On the flip side I think I am one of the few males who is not a fan of male/gender neutral costumes being "sexied up" for women.

Didn't you sell the female chest mold to Dave Weimert? I remember he picked up one somewhere a couple of years ago. It was based on your files at least which I remember you posting on the 405th back then.

Looks as good as I remember. Nice to see both projects again.

Yea, I made them. I'm not a 3d modeler, so I had to pep out portions of existing pieces I liked and attach them together. I never made a mold, but I've been thinking about it.

Here is an example of how I pieces parts together witht the chest piece:

Thank you. Now that I look at it again after a few years, it makes me want to start up on it again.

Sigma!!! The man that got me into costume forums, how you doing?!

Dave? Is that Ithica? I've never talked with him. Didn't he have a team of teenage boys make him that armor? I remember that that armor and mine came out at around the same time.

It's awesome :) although I think the stomach and back are too exposed, need just a little more armor. after all, she will be battling laser shootin' aliens :p

Thoughts as they occurred:
Very cool look
Too many exposed areas
Hair needs putting up so it doesn't catch.

I'd quite like to see this expanded upon. I agree with the practice of altering armour to better fit women and offer protection (not that plastic fantasy armour is realistically protective), but personally disagree with the principle of completely feminising it and making it all curvaceous... however, I often love the results of feminising, too. It's complicated.

Unfortunately, I don't know what Fallout is, so I can't comment on the other piece but it does look interesting - What is Sintra, anyway? Is it as strong as Pepakura?

Both suits look amazing!! And like everyone else has said....you've gotta finish that Fallout armor!! :) Fantastic work....

Thank you, everyone! I appreciate the support!

Sintra is not as hard as fiberglass. It is a PVC/Foam. The trouble with Sintra is that it can flex (crack paint or break connections). Easy to work with though. I've seen a few Youtube videos of a guy showing how to make armor with it, if your interested.

Your a lucky man that your wife shares your interest in Halo and other costume armor, my wife just barely tolerates it!:lol

Great costume, must be nice to have a wife that shares your interest in costumes. I'm still trying to talk my wife into jumping into at costume and joining me at conventions but I don't think it would happen.
