Here is my heavily modified Rubies ROTS Vader on mannequin.
The only thing left intact are the capes.
the helmet is a modified Rubies.
the shoulder armor is fiberglassed and painted Rubies armor
the suit is from Fettpride and looks perfect.
the chestbox is a painted Rubies one.( I am not sure if this box is the right size? Seems a bit small to me.)
Belt and buckle are leather and aluminium.
Boxes are homemade.
gloves are from Katarra creations a long time ago.
shin armor is from ebay.
boots are riding boots.

critique away.

That is probably the best looking ROTS Rubies Vader I have seen.

How long did it take you to mod everything? It looks great. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Looks great Chris. What mods did you do to the helmet? Did you follow the tutorial that's been posted here? The reason I'm asking is because I'm following it too. Looks really nice.

Also, what cod is that? Is it just the Rubies?

The cod is a modified Rubies. It can actually look really good with work.
on the helmet, I used a heatgun for the neck-flare, I fixed the eyes with bondo and filled in the nose ridges also.
I filled in and put new eye indents then cut new ridges
I will get better pics I do not know what happened.
I then painted with gloss black thick
The nose ridges are really sharp.
I also used a fiberglass helmet.
the Rubies mask is really sharp and looks great all modified.
I also have a portumac ROTS Vader helmet.
I actually like this one better.
The mannequin is a heavily modified one also.

whewww, I think I got all the questions.

Extremely nice Chris......great display.........you would blow us away if you had a tripod to steady the camera.......or a table set to timer for that matter. :) From what I can see it's one of the better ROTS displays I've seen.

Dave :)

It's very nice especially considering what you began with...  Now if that neck were only a bit longer on the facemask.  Don't worry you will be upgrading for the rest of your life.......just ask someone who's been there......LOL

Dave :)

Vaderdarth I also have an ESB Vader that started out as little more than a cardboard cutout.

Better pics. Very nice display. One of my only comments about it is the chest box which is strapped on instead of a bolt-on look like the movie. Were you afraid to cut into the pleather suit? Are the gloves screen-accurate? I would like a better look at those custom belt boxes. :D

Chris- Your Vader is off the hook man, great job.

How did you go about fiberglassing the Rubies armour ? That would be interesting to know. The armour looks awesome. Ive seen some on Ebay that is sith style but it is kind of deformed. I got a rubies set I want to mod, or replace.

I'd like to know this too :)

The way that I did the Fiberglassing was
I took the bells off.
then I cut a long piece of styrene as thick as I want the armor to be thick.
I then Duct tape the styrene to the front of the armor at an "L" .
then I use the Bondo with fibers in it.
I fill it up to the edge and go back about 4 to 5 inches.
I wait for it to dry.
then it pops off because the Bondo does not bond to the plastic of the armor.
now you have a molded piece of Bondo.
You peel off the piece of styrene and you have very smooth edges.
you then epoxy the piece back on.
then I sand the front with a sander.
fill in any spots with Bondo.
Sand again then paint.
Very solid will not fall off and looks great.
Do the same to the bells.
This only took about an hourfor the armor and an hour for the bells.

anyone can do it .

I hope that this short tutorial is helpful and understandable.
any questions PM me .
