My "V" collection

Hi, if we have any V fans here who have costumes, can you please advise how holsters are attached? I think there must be a band high up , going round the thigh to attach it, but is there a lower one? and is there a vertical band to attach it to the belt for added stability?
apologies for all the questions,
Nick : )

Thought I'd share these with any V fans here, these were books/magazines with card covers that came out back in the day, they featured interviews, behind the scenes, episode guides etc.

There were 6 of these published, a seventh was mentioned at the end of book 6 but never came out as the publisher went bankrupt I think.

File 1 came out in 3 editions, a very hard to find single volume hardback, as a single volume softback, and also split across two softbacks, files 2-6 only came out as softbacks.

These were pretty good for time, the only occasional downside was the poor quality reproduction of some photo's (even a mothership upside down in one case!) plus filler articles, and poorly researched character profiles. Aside from that they were good : )

Firstly the little guy on the left (wanted one for ages, just got it from another fan) you can operate him like a puppet as he's hollow, move his arms and mouth. Just need a regular supply of mice now...

And secondly a promotional "Forces TV" poster for when they recently showed the original miniseries . This is the smaller of the 2 posters used to promote the show, which were displayed here in the U.K. in the windows of Forbidden planet stores. They are good quality and printed on card.

The last photo is of the actual window display in Forbidden Planet Newcastle Upon Tyne's window that I took myself : )

So these are new to my collection, volumes 1,2, and 4, I have no idea how many there were, as info is as hard to find as the volumes themselves, volume 1 collects issues 1-3 of the D.C. comic, volume 2 collects 4-6, and volume 3 only collects issues 7 & 8 , all 3 are bulked out by non V related D.C. material.

These have nice card covers, and also have card covers for each V issue inside, some mostly textless which is nice.

Volumes 1 and 2 also have a text introduction (same intro in both). The cover art is also different in some cases with the background removed. There's also a b/w advert for the individual issues of the comics, also printed on card.

This is my new pistol, with custom stand and holster, the seller wasn't happy with the tube alignment and some scratches on it so he sold it, I love it though, it's nicely painted, is very light in weight and doesn't have the screws molded into it like a lot of others out there.

I think the stand is a cool touch, and the holster is sturdy, still not sure how it attaches to the belt on the uniform though.

Below are my others, an Arco toy version, then a copy of a prop made by "Monsterman" cast from his original prop., plus a recast of that (yes I know silver isn't the the right colour but I think it looks cool) , but like most of these the small clear piece of rod supplied with it wasn't long enough, so for now I've just cut a piece of glue stick to size and used that, I hope to find something better through.

and lastly the paper version from the Spanish Tele indiscreta magazine from back in the day.

This is a Visitor key, like the one Donovan infiltrated the mothership with, Made by a prop maker known as Monsterman, he also made a limited run of V laser pistols cast from his original prop.

This key is a single piece, painted gold and with the middle section clear, and most importantly bubble free, Monsterman made it made it in a pressure cooker to eliminate them.

(The Resistance membership badge/pass pictured with it is just a paper printout of the one that came with some of the toy guns sets and mounted in one of those acrylic fridge magnet frames you can get from craft shops. I think it looks pretty cool : ) )

I couldn't find the right image, so was hoping someone could help here if they had an image of one. especially an image not taken at a strange angle or with a finger or thumb obscuring it.

New Acquisition, 3 Crooked dice V shocktroopers, one assembled and painted and 2 awaiting assembly and painting, these come with alternate heads, so you can have them disguised or revealing their true reptile selves, the lizard heads are incredibly detailed for something so small (the figures themselves are only about 1" high.
They are sold singly or in sets of 4 and are marketed as "Invaders". Each comes with a small plastic display stand for them to slot into.
The final pic is not mine, it's just there to show the detailing and paint jobs on the heads that can be achieved : )
