And so it has finally begun. Super huge thanks to Gregg for use of his shop and tools, his generous time, guidance, and all his expertise and resources.

And once again a super thanks to all the contributors to this ASAP thread and from the years of encouragement and assistance I have gotten from members here- without you I'd never even have thought to attempt a build like this.

Enough gushing - here's the pix.

Nothing is attached, it's all just set together for the pictures. And I know the controls are not in the right orientation, I just wanted to stick 'em on there for fun. All the controls and comm are Bruce's. Thanks Bruce!

Thanks all. The pedestal is about 8" tall. The Rockler bearing will add a little more height to it.
 
Oh yeah, I also dropped by my dad's place this weekend to check out the walnut he bought for my armrests. :p
