My TIE armor.

Heres a TIE fighter outfit I put together. I bought the helmet as a complete wreck on Ebay and restored it. Its made out of 7 pieces of plastic plus custom made aluminum greeblies and plexiglass brow mohawk. The liner is a CVC tankers helmet I put inside after removing the electronics. The chestbox lights up and blinks. Weapon is a Master Replicas blaster with real M38 scope and real Hengstler counter. Holster was custom made out of leather by a profesional. Boots are new leather Czech army surplus with correct buckle. Flightsuit is standard available on internet. Belt is 2' leather with correct buckle with greeble. Armor was custom made out of vacformed black ABS. I have an arm commpad too but its not in these pics.

Helmet during restoration. Greeblies are Nissan door panel fastners.

The 3 bumps on the ear wells are Philips head screws with the crosses filled.

VERY nice TIE Pilot costume. Congrats on such a fine buildup of the helmet....looked like a lot of work went on with its buildup.

I got the hoses at Home Depot. They are made by RIGID for a small shop vac. About $15 each.

Is there any kind of quick connect attahcment for the hoses on either end? Or are the helmet and chest box permantently linked by hose?

Very nice work. Very good choice on the hoses. You would be amazed at the common items you find that end up being pivotal pieces of a costume or model.

My hoses are smooth for a couple inches on one end and simply friction fit into the helmet holes. On the other ends the ridges on the hoses pop over the hole edges on the chest box. Very secure. Every helmet, chestbox and hose combination is different so you may have to make yours differently. Go over to omegawing. Its a dedicated site to TIE fighter costuming with a wealth of information. I'm Shado Pilot there too

Well done. The only couple of things I would've changed is where the faceplate meets up with the ear wells, and I would've put the dimple in surrounding the upper ear greeblie.

Great work, though SP.

Fantastic restoration on the helmet. And your entire costume looks great. I'm doing this as my next SW costume;-)
