Ok, so I'm off and running. Im' probably going to run several threads in a few other forums so please forgive the cross posting.
my pattern..
the test fit.
Im using craft foam, I glued two sheets together with gorilla glue and added velcro. I'm very surprised how strong it is. I need to make another one, add the fins and then get them painted. plastidip takes pretty well to the foam with the test pieces i've done and it seems to add quite a lot of strength, even in light coats.
