here's my version of the 2015 Nike Footwear bag from Back to the Future 2, i found the tube at a yardsale for 4 dollars and went to Home Depot for most of the supplies
took one night and one day start to finish
*UPDATE* 5/18
ok i made one other tube with the other half of the original one.
I've also found a larger tube with a wider diameter and hightops can fit inside. I may be able to make a few more with the same style as this one with carpet lining (for shoes and jacket to stay inside with no damage to them)
-cardboard tubing
-small hinges
-Plasti Dip spray coating
-box cutter (easier in the Home Depot tubes because they are thin) a saw wouldn't work good because it left jagged edges even with a smooth blade
-drawer pull handles ***added (taller than the first)***
-**adding carpet lining for inside
found this for 4 bucks. here it is when i bought it. i wanted to keep the chrome film on but it came off while cutting the tube in half
yes i hand cut it. took like almost 2 hours
high tops dont fit inside but mid high shoes do though
forgot to wear my gloves and got a blister. ugh sucked!!!
my Tron esque style gloves. Rawlings batting gloves painted black and took off the patches
disadvantage- chrome film came off while cutting the tube
advantage- chrome film can be peeled off and used as the side windows!!
one of my prototypes
hinges and drawer handles installed, worked all night so have to coat it in the morning...
morning time! as the tube is drying, i'll make a id disc to waste some time made it out of pizza boxes
flies VERY straight but i threw it pretty hard against the wall. dont matter i can make 25 more from the pizza boxes i saved :lol
with the windy contidion, it took about a half hour to dry, thank you wind!
re-installed hinges and handles after it dried
here we are!
i cut up the left end tryin to install the window. failed! boo!
oh yea, here's a average sized boot for measurement and scale
hope u enjoy my project!
