This just arrived today; my sword of William Wallace from Braveheart. Also, my movie collectors plaque from the movie. This is a huge sword and looks great displayed up on the wall; I just need to get a plaque to mount it to instead of being bolted to the wall :lol Hope you all like it; here are the pics...

Looks great! Since I'm in San Antonio too I might just have to visit!

Big swords are always strike a chord with my somehow.

That looks pretty awesome! I live near Stirling in Scotland and have for years cringed a bit at Braveheart after outside the Wallace Monument which is a beautiful tower built in his memory they had this...

May I add on the bottom is the word FREEDOM under his feet *cringes*

But now it's gone I can love the film again and the sword has to be the most iconic thing apart from FREEEEEEEEDOM! It looks great up on your wall.

Check out that decapitated head by the foot of that statue! Imhotep, congrats...that is an awesome sword!

Thanks everyone for the compliments; I'm still going to put this sword on a plaque instead of leaving it just mounted to the wall with plain screws. Anyhow, that statue is awesome; I'd love to have that in my living room next to my Isis Sarcophogus and statue of King Tut. I'll post another pic or two when I'm done working on the plaque for my sword; good day all! :)

That sounds like a good idea Cody; it's funny because out of all my buddies here in town, none of them share the same interest in movie props or just movies at that. It'd be great to hang out with someone with a common passion and chit chat over our collection. P.M. Me if you ever want to hang out :thumbsup

It's gone now? Excellent. When was it removed? I remember for the past few years it was caged up at night to stop people from vandalising it. Seeing that bloody awful "Freedom" statue encaged always did bring a small bit of amusement.

Yes it's gone now, funny thing is they put it up for sale for £350,000 and no one bought it, so it's now back in the artists studio in a castle display he built for it. :S

The cage was needed as it had been vandalised loads - its face was gouged out,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Monument#cite_note-herald_vandalism-6 it had paint thrown over it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Monument#cite_note-independent_statue-3it was struck with a hammer, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Monument#cite_note-american_spectator-4and someone chipped off the decapitated head of the Governor of York which had formerly graced the statue's base. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Monument#cite_note-central_scotland_police-7

May I add I never did any of that!

I recently Visited family in Scotland and this is a view from Stirling Castle looking at the Wallace monument, its the tall building on the Hill.
