My Sculpt -General Urko- Planet of the Apes

This is looking so yummiliciously wonderful!! So is this to be made into a foam latex appliance?

I'm sure Mr. The Fang will attest to this - I started working on the helmet and it's kinda tough to get a real read on the curves on the thing. Once I think I've got it, I'll see another angle that blows it. Fiberglass and leather has to be the quickest, and most correct way. Glove leather will glue right down on it, and it's easy to sew. The Haversak is tough too. Looking great though. There's some clearance fur at NFT right now you might could use.

I just looked, it's gone, sorry. Keep an eye on that clearance section. They just sent me what I needed and didn't charge me. Granted it wasn't much, but it was enough to do what I needed.

Laffo.

Your Urko looks great.

I did Urko a long time ago. I was 12 and it was my first serious stab at foam latex prosthetics. I made most of the other costume components, too. Pretty terrible overall, but for a kid at Halloween, not too bad.

How's the process going? Always excited to see another ape project. I was wondering if you plan on making copies.

Sadly this project went in the garbage :(. At the time I did this, I really didn't
have much experience in sculpting let alone sculpting full size pieces like this.
The structure under the clay was really bad and as I started sculpting the
detail, I started noticing cracks. Before the day was up it looked like urko
suffered a magnitude 10 earthquake. I was so frustrated that I just tossed
the whole pile of clay in the can. I think the clay I bought was a little on the
old side too because it was really hard to smooth.

I really do want to tackle this project again. Maybe once a few of my other
projects are finished. It was a pretty fun project to work on..

I know this is an old response. My apologies for not realizing I never answered
your question. First off, I love your work jessica. I've watched all of your
progress and it's been great. Probably the best POTA stuff out there.

Now to answere your question - I didn't have plans to do an appliance, but
rather a full size bust in either foam latex or silicone. I was even looking into
hand punching hair onto the final piece. I wish this sculpt didn't crack and end
up in the can, but like I said above, it was a fun project to work on and I am
gonna tackle it again.. Thanks so much for the compliment, it means a lot. :)
