My Rylo Luke ROTJ w/working triangles- New inside pics!

Gone but not forgotten.
Relatively new person here. It's great to be here. I have one of Rylo's awesome ROTJ blanks. I haven't seen anyone put in lighted triangle LEDs yet so I thought I would show off mine. I love lighted props and knew that when the Rylo arrived I would have to add lights. So after studying the parts for a few days I picked up a few new bits for my Dremel and set to work. I glued one LED on the side and scribbed around it with my xacto blade. I did the same for the other side. I used this as a guide to for cutting it out. I used a waffer battery hidden inside the pommel. I drilled a hole between the screw and the end of the box and fed the wires thru into the hilt. I used a small on/off switch. I drilled a rectangular hole in the side of the control box and a corresponding hole in the block to fit over the slider sticking thru. For eyeballing it, everything went and fit together surprisingly well. I have a few Icons cases coming so it will be well protected. Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate it. When you start out with a quality product you usualy finish with one.

Does anyone with a MR ROTJ have side by side pics they can post? I would love to see how this compares to a MR.

I think this is a really cool idea.
One thing wrong in my opinion, you missed some black paint on the first ring.
It just looks "off" without it.

Thats one sweet Luke ROTJ. Its one thing to have actual copper, but the triangles with lights really make it special.

Wow, thanks for the compliments guys! It means a lot coming from members of this forum.

Scarf Man, I debated a lot on that ring. I know the actual prop was black. I just liked it better unpainted. One could also argue that my triangles are wrong since they did not light up on the actual prop either. I appreciate your comments as I repect everyones opinion here. Thank you.

Well we don't know if they did light up or not. It's begining to look as if this version was never seen on screen any way.
If this was buildt for the "construction scene", the triangles may very well have lit up.

That really looks great. The Luke ROTJ Saber has always been my favorite and I'm still kicking myself for missing out on MR's first version, which I still think is thier best one.
