My Roddenberry.com Klingon Disruptor

Here is my new disruptor that I just finished over the weekend. It is a sturdy easy to build kit. I used the recommended colors and airbrushed a final "dirty" layer with gunmetal buffable metalizer paint.

I will defintely be getting more of their kits as time and money permits. They are nicely done.

The main color is red oxide primer. They recommend plasticote ruddy brown (pretty much the same as far as I can tell). I used Testors semi-gloss black for the handle, gold and silver for the details.

Very, very, VERY nice. One of my favorite film weapons. Nice job on the finish. What are the recommended colors? i did a garage kit of one of these using a standard red oxide primer. Kick ass finish on mine, but not very accurate... :unsure I love the kit you have though. :thumbsup

Looks great.

I love the Targh next to it in one of the pics.

I have two hooves holding up my sword of Kahless.

Love it. I have one of their Phaser II kits that I finally broke down and bought - it's excellent. One day, I'll build it up. :)

The prop shops that makes these for Rod.com did a lot of the props for us on TNG, DS9 and Voyager. Excellent kits. I like the booklets with instructions and such they include too. Very well done.

Very nice disruptor indeed. A little too clean for my taste though.

Great work nonetheless. :)

It actually looks pretty dirty in person, my photography leaves much to be desired.

Thanks for all the compliments. This is my second prop weathering paintjob and I must say it is great fun to do.

I wonder if Roddenberry.com will sell any other alien props. For some reason I like the more unusual stuff. A Klingon tricorder would be neat or the Universal Translator from ST VI.

VERY nice. I LOVE Klingon props. I've got several, but could always use more. :) Thanks

Now I just need to find the time to start my first sculpting job, the Klingon Gavel. Always a favorite of mine and since I could't outbid the $20K bidder at the Christies auction I have to make my own.

So you worked on the shows? Do you have any tips or stories about the props from your experience?

Nice job. I have been tempted by this kit for some time. Strangely, the reason I held off was that the kit comes nearly done except for cleaning and painting.

I have been extremely happy with every rodd.com kit I have gotten. My TOS classic phaser rifle is the prize of my collection.
