My review of Action Costumes Reeve Superman costume

I really really wanted to give this a glowing review however after the lack of communication fiasco between Sebastian and I on my Superman costume for the 1/1 Reeve bust, I thought everything was settled and I would have no worries. Well, after taking two months from ordering to receiving a half top and half cape which I expressed to him that I wanted accurate to Reeve's suit. He sent me a sub standard quality product. The top he sent had a felt "S" shield which was glued onto the suit and not even centered properly. It was way off. He also sent a cape which was not accurate, had no pleating where it comes out of the costume and the edges were very rough. It was just a flat piece of fabric at the neckline. He charged me $280 for a small piece of fabric with a glued on shield and this half cape. I expected a quality piece. I expressed that I was unhappy and wanted a refund and he told me to forget it and to not deal with him again. This is good customer service? My wife looked at it after I put it on the bust and she said right away, "you paid $ 300 for that? The S isn't even centered, get your money back!" I am by no means a difficult customer, but I expect the same quality in customer service and product that I give. I would NOT recommend Action Costumes (The Hero Walk on ebay) to anyone after this dealing. Here is a photo where you can see how far off the S shield is. And I cannot stretch it to glue it down in the center because it's felt. I really wanted to give Sebastian a chance, but no way now.

Yeah, man.... there's no denying that. It's way off. Unless you mean you are going to prove him wrong in the aspect that you are a better business person than what he has said and shown. That he deserves.

wow it's way off centered, that would bug the hell out of me, I was actually about to place a order for a full Bronze Edition Reeves costume, at the asking price it should be flawless and of the highest quality.

When your running a business and your producing high-end-quality craftsmanship products costumer service is the key for generating and returning business. I've also been considering on purchasing the Bronze, Reeves Edition Costume for my next life size statue project.

From visiting his website and his ebay posting the Superman shield is always sewn-on on his replica costumes!

As a collector one always pays high-prices for quality products...

Pictures don't lie and by what StreetJudge79 described sub-standard material where used in the reproduction of his bust suit? It's clear an error was made by the seamster or by whoever selected the materials?

it is only right that Action-Costumes corrects the matter? "THIS COMING FROM A POTENTIAL FUTURE CUSTOMER"

I was going to order from Action Costumes but upon finding out that their emblems were glued on and other bad reviews I've read I decided to get my Superman suit from a competitor. Their customer service so far has been top notch and I plan to do a full review once I receive my order. Very happy with my decision.

When I opened it from the package, the shield was still way off center. No matter how this suit is put on (correctly or incorrectly) there is no way to get the emblem centered. It does not stretch one bit since it is a felt piece glued onto the suit. Nice try Sebastian.
Sebastian has no interest in fixing the issue, he told me to forget a refund. So I was forced to file a paypal claim for an item not clearly what was ordered. I hate doing this but $ 300 for a half a top, I expected the Shield to be correct after I told him I wanted and accurate costume top.
Batfoo, who did you get yours from? I'm going to have to replace this one and I want one that is going to be good.

Sheesh... that is way off center AND cockeyed. It's basically one flip of the shield from being a Bizarro costume.

******, man, I could make a better shield than that blindfolded and hand sewing...

And exactly how wrong am I Sebastian? The photos do not lie. You cannot stretch felt. Yes I know there is a particular way this suit goes on, if the shield was sewn in as it should have been, then this would not have been an issue.
I could have stretched it and glued it down.

I am busy now but I will show you how wrong you are !

Don't "hate doing this".... Man, you spent a crapload of money on something that is clearly sub-par. The situation needs to be corrected and you absolutely deserve to be satisfied for what you paid for. End of story. Sebastian also might want to realize how word of mouth travels fast in this sort of community, and if he has any hope of maintaining any shred of business coming his way, then he'd better get a move-on.... pronto. You have no idea the kind of hell I would raise if this were me! :lol

If the paypal doesn't work out in your favor, contact your cc company and do a chargeback. It takes some time, but they review everything, and you'll get your money back.

I don't think he really cares, one of the last things he told me was " I'm going to make you look stupid on the boards" . I don't even want contact with the guy from this point on.

You ought to post his emails.... we'll see who "looks stupid."

BTW, in my opinion, Sebastian's silence here is very telling. Just get your money back dude.... You can and you will.

Here is the first email I got from him.

What? That´s how we made the costumes for the busts we made.
Those are the standard costume from the 80´s.
The Bronce Edition costumes are much more expensive than these ones and have the quality I think you are looking for after reading this mail.
Sorry Sir but we can´t give you a refund, what you got it´s what you ordered.
I had been really patience with you and you offended me and my company in many ways.
This will be the last time I speak or you get anything from me.

I recieved the superman costume and i am completely unhappy with it. The quality is poor. The s emblem is an iron on felt piece that is too ridged. The cape top is terrible looking and appears unfinished. The cape and top are nothing like the actual suit. The cape should have been pleated where it sticks out of the costume. I would like a refund.

Dont make excuses for your inferior product. I will not change the feedback. You are a terrible seller

And another where I express that the shield was placed wrong.

You putted the costume over the Bust completely wrong!
The pleats of the cape have to be made by the one who adapt the costume to the bust.
The sewn Shield you asked for it´s from the Bronze Ediiton we produce, a Top Costume like the one we made for you of the Bronze edition could cost over u$d 600 .
Like I told you before the one you ordered it´s from the Standard 80´s Style one.
We sent you an E-mail before with a picture that shows how to put the neck line, that is not the way you made it.
For last I will like to tell you that you are the one that had a really bad behavior not us, we made you an item that we don´t use to sell apart of the bust just for you.
You don´t know how to put it on your bust and we have the problem?
Sir, if you put any other comment in a forum I assure you that we will have all the pictures that will let you look like a stupid.
So please, put the costume we sent you well on the bust and stop trying to make us like we don´t know how to make this.
The costume we sent you is the same one we use for our bust so you are the one of the problem, not us!
Apart of that you gave us your word that you would change the feedback into our Ebay´s user and you are now telling you will not.
This will be the end of the conversation and the end of our business relationship.
Don´t try to put the problem in others when you are the problem!!!

I have several issues, First, the S shield is felt and glued on. It is supposed to be sewn into the costume. Second it does NOT line up. It is off center and cannot be repositioned. Then the cape.. no pleats where it comes out of the costume.
This is below my quality that I expected from you and this was supposed to be the ultimate display piece, but now it looks half ass thanks to you. I am not satisfied one bit. I will not change the feedback on ebay until a replacement top is sent. I will live with the cape, but I want the quality top I expected. For $ 300.00, I expected something nice. Not your cheap version top. Especially after making me wait 2 months. I'll be posting my review of the costume on all the forums as well unless you rectify this abomination. In the photo I sent you here, you can see how far off the S shield is. Did you even bother to look at it before shipping it?
Steve

Wait you didn't get the their full finished bust as reviewed here
SUPERMAN UNPACKING BUST CHRISTOPHER REEVE LIFESIZE 1:1 BUST FOR ACTION COSTUMES - YouTube

You just ordered the fabric componets at a cost of $300 to fit your bust? From what I understand you wanted and paid for all Bronze edition fabric components but got basic fabric with felt glued on emblem correct? The fitting problem might be being that his pattern is made to fit his bust and not yours, they look different when you compare both bust as you can see from the Youtube video

Gerardo

The type of bust doesn't matter Gerardo, the fact is the emblem was way off. I'm not overly concerned about the cape or the way the top sits, I can work with that, but the emblem even while not on the bust was off center and was just a felt piece glued on. Not the quality I expected for a $ 300 half top and half cape.

oh i'm with you, for $300 it should have been top quality and perfect for such little fabric used.
