My Rambo Knife Displays

Hey guys, I just thought I would show you my displays of my Rambo knives. They all have coveres to the cases, but I left them off so you could see them better with my flash glare. The United Cutlery knife, will soon be replaced by a hand made knife made by Ray Matton, the mission knife will be replaced too. To go along side my Gil Hibben Rambo 3. The First blood display incorporates a real rock and leaves from Hope BC where most of the movie was made, as I picked these up when I went there in October 2009, as I helped a friend Herve Attia finish his On the Set Of First Blood part 4 documentary, and I have 3 small parts in it.

The guy in the intro is Stephen Chang, who played the VC Commander in the movie.

The Rambo 2 knife display incorporates real barbed wire, and bamboo punji stake traps, to give it a vietnam feel to it.

The Rambo 3, has a stuffed scorpion, and a russian grenade to give it the mine field scene look.

The Rambo 4 knife display features a boat propellor similar to the one used in the movie on Rambo's work bench, and the metal filings that you see came from my friend Gil Hibben's workshop.

Well, those are cool.

Nice to see some "Rambo" appreciation here - First Blood is still a fave of mine.

Those are some of the best looking displays I've ever seen. First Blood is by far the best of the 4.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It was pretty simple. I started with a picture frame, which I used as the base. I then incorporated newspaper and PVA glue and water to shape the uneven ground. Once that had dried, I covered the hardened newspaper with more PVA glue, and added either playpit sand (for the Rambo 3 display) or soil (for the Rambo 1 and 2 displays). They worked out well. The funny thing was, I had a simple idea first off, then after chatting with friends, I thought I would jazz them up a bit.

Here how it was originally:

I have got them all in a bookcase now.

Don't get me wrong, cos I love the knives, but I love your displays more!! :thumbsup

Very clever and well done. I have seen a lot of displays and they often seem to take away from the prop but these really add to the prop and give a very cool ambiance.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I was restricted by funds, as Im not the worlds richest man, so to compensate for that, I tried to add a lot of thought instead. Ive just noticed there are a couple of my Rottweiler's hairs on the Rambo 3 display, shes a malting fur ball at the moment. lol

Love the displays...

Cheers pal. I am contemplating doing another for the Rambo First Blood part 2 knife. For this I will incorporate a stuffed chicken, and an old red petrol (gas) can. Also maize stalks with fake blood on them, this is the scene where rambo lures the Vietnamese army into the corn before he sets it on fire.
