    Hi there.

I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself and post a few of the items that I've acquired.

My name is Mark. I live in Sydney, Australia and am only relatively new to the world of Prop Collecting. As well as props, I also enjoy collecting skateboard decks and sporting/music memorabilia.

My prop collection is currently unorganized (and isn't anywhere near as impressive as some of the collections ive seen here). I probably dont plan to organize it all untill I buy my own house hopefully in the near future. My choice of items are pretty random too. I havent just focused on one area. Ive started off buying just about anything I like the look of. Hopefully in the future I can pad each specific group into its own nifty collection.

So with out further babbling, heres my collection(s) (I'm throwing up a shot of both my skateboards and sports stuff simply for the sake of it)

My Skateboards, Sport and random memorabilia

Welcome aboard Mark! It looks like you're starting off with a pretty diverse collection there. I particularly like the Back to the Fututre II shoes and the Jurassic Park velociraptor props. (But how can you not like stuff from those movies, right? :)) Very cool man! :thumbsup

Have received a couple of new additions in the last couple of days.

I got myself a Biff Tannen cane to add to my BTTF collection
    [IMG]

And, ever since 1999, I have wanted to get my hands on one of these. And finally, 12 years later, I have got myself a Darth Maul Double Edged Saber.

I also have quite a few more things ordered. So this will get a few updates in the near future.

Great additions to the collection Mark! (You don't see a lot of ''Biff'' canes around. Nice!) The Darth Maul lightsaber looks beautiful too. Have you had a chance to check out the FREE PAPER PROPS section yet? There's a whole bunch of cool Back to the Future stuff posted there in particular that you'd probably like. (SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER fliers, Marty and his brother & sister ''disappearing'' photos, etc...) There are some very talented folks here.

    Cheers mate.

I have had a look through the paper props section, but at this stage, as I'm waiting to get my own place before properly displaying everything, I think I'll leave them until it's time to build a prop room.

    Thanks for taking a look.

I hear ya Mark. There never seems to be enough room when it comes to props, does there? :lol Seriously though, what you've got going on right now looks great. Keep up the good work.

My biggest issue is, there is PLENTY of room for props at my place, my mum just wont let me display anything outside of my room haha.

Hence the reason why I'm currently trying to organise to buy my own house. The good news is, my girlfriend has NO issue with me having a prop room. In fact, she seems pretty keen on the idea. (I've even bought her some replicas for christmas to add to 'our' collection.

Now the hunt is on for an episode 1 Obi Wan saber. It's funny how things snowball. At first I was happy with just the Maul Saber, then i saw the qui gon for sale. Now it just seems silly not to have all three from the Duel of Fates (and that may become 4 if I decide to find the battle damaged maul)

Another couple of items arrived in the mail today. I got myself a pair of Doc Brown glasses and a Grays Sports Almanac.

I can't post a pic of the almanac yet. It's technically part of my Christmas present from my girlfriend.

Re: My Prop and Memorabilia Collection - A Bit Of Heartbreak

I had been house sitting for a mate who had gone to the US of A for 7 and a half weeks, and whilst he was at disney land, he purchased me a couple of Limited Edition Disney Statues. He got me Donald Duck as Darth Maul and Goofy as Darth Vader.

Those who have read this thread may have noticed that I had purchased a Detolf Display cabinet from Ikea, and so, having recieved these from my mate last night, I proceeded to put them on display this morning.

I came out to my room later this afternoon, and to my horror, there were no shelves in my detolf. They had all fallen. My Darth Maul Donald now has a broken lightsaber and horn, whilst my Goofy Darth Vader was broken in half and also had a broken lightsaber. It was absolutely heart breaking. I hadnt even had them for 24 hours.

Luckily, everything else I had in there appears to be ok. It's needless to say that I'm unhappy with this unit. The figures arent anything exceptionally heavy (the max weight per shelf is said to be 6 kilos, I wouldnt put them near that weight).

So yeah, Im a bit heartbroken right now.

Re: My Prop and Memorabilia Collection - A Bit Of Heartbreak

I got both in the JY.

From memory, the Pepsi Bottle was from Pitbull and the Phantom of the opera mask was from The Death Curse.

The Pepsi bottle was one of the items to survive the collapse. I just wish I had of left that stupid dodgy Darth Maul bust in the cabinet instead of replacing it with these statues. Id be far less heartbroken if that broke.

But oh well, I'll try my luck at getting them again.

    Also, something else ive been working on is my cookie monster puppet display. These are the current results;

I have managed to secure them both again (plus one additional one). I have currently been to scared to take them out of their boxes untill I have somewhere safe to display them, but heres the pics I took of the first two before they broke.

Re: My Prop and Memorabilia Collection - New Addition- Millenium Falcon

So I came across this Millenium Falcon on ebay and decided I had to have it. I dont know a great deal about what its worth or when it was made or who it was made by, so anyone that could help me with that kind of info would be great. She lights up, makes noise and such.

    This is it with the two compartments open to see the interior;

This shot shows its size. My dads a pretty big man and it covers him up pretty well:

And this is where she gets displayed (much to my mums dis-pleasure):

So if anyone can give me any info on this, Im very interested to know. Especially if I got it for a bargain or got heaps ripped off.

That's the Hasbro Millenium Falcon from a few years ago. They originally sold for around $150.00 U.S. For those of us who aren't lucky enough to own the Master Replica's Falcon, this makes for a pretty nice display piece. I love mine, but I just don't have a lot of room to display it at the moment. (The sucker's hu-u-u-ge!!!) Here's more info from the Rebelscum website. Congrats man!

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Addition- Millenium Falcon

    Thanks for that info mate.

I picked this one up for about $110 Australian, shipped. Seems to just be missing a few of the landing gear (came with 3 instead of 7) and I only have one projectile. Also missing the characters that came with it originally (that explains why a little han solo blaster popped up randomly though).

All stuff that doesn't really add to or take away from it a a display piece. I'm pretty happy with that.

In regards to the MR Falcon, what is the size comparison there?

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Addition- Millenium Falcon

I might have a look into that in the future. But for right now, I'm pretty happy to have it as a display piece without any characters. One day I'll have to visit Adelaide. Nearly 27 years in Australia and I've only seen Qld, NSW and a small part of Victoria. Seen more overseas than I have here at home.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll have a hunt for it today. Though, with my skill level I'm restricted to just buying, so it'll probably just cause jealousy haha.

Hahaha. Again, thanks for all the info. I appreciate it immensely. Would've taken me ages to find it all (for some reason I'm terrible at searching for things on the Internet. Even my mum finds things better than me and I'm the one who pays for our Internet!)

Also, my Power Rangers helmet is currently on a plane with my cousin traveling to America so it can be posted to fellow RPF member GeneralFROSTY to take advantage of his Kit build and paint services. (Note that my cousin is a flight attendant and I haven't just paid for her to escort it over). So, I can't wait for that to come back to me all painted and pretty.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Addition- Millenium Falcon

I spent the day organising some of my collection.

First, I refitted a shelf in my detolf to display my Putty Mask. So, to get some form of head for it to sit on, I dismantled an old lave lamp I had laying around (you may notice the lava lamp bottle holding my Indy hat), attached a small foam football I also had laying around and used a bunch of tape and newspaper to pad it out a bit.

I also put my All Spark in at the bottom and have dispayed my grail diary and grail with the indy hat. My Casey Jones mask now sits on top with my Green Ranger dagger and White Ranger Morpher. I've also used an old CD rack to display my cryocan and Rat Goblet.

I also put my Toy Story collection on display.

Had a few items arrive lately (im getting to the stage where Im forgetting things I have now, so there could be another update soon when I find something else.)

Indiana Jones - False Grail from Last Crusade.

Harry Potter - Monster Book Of Monsters

Those two items are some examples of the insane ability of some of the members on this site (Sarednab for the grail and Hotshot for the book).

I also had a costume party last weekend, and decided to go as a Putty Patroller from Power Rangers. This was my effort.

Haha, probably not. But at least I'll have MORE space. I'm seriously struggling to find room for everything now. I have a bunch of paper props waiting to be framed and hung, but I have absolutely no wall space to hang them. My mum is being a trooper and no longer complaining about the Falcon taking up her table on the living room. And currently, the monster book is in its box on the pool table and both my Power Rangers dagger and False Grail are living on the kitchen table.

Though I may be going to ikea soon to grab another detolf cabinet, so after some rearranging of everything, hopefully I'll find some room.
