After 3-1/2 years of collecting parts....I finally finished my R2 enough to take him out.

All the panels on the dome open...I just ran out of channels. Also the scanner rotates and there's a scope on my work bench to be added later along with a cpu arm and gripper....maybe a mini-saw too :D

Excuse the video, taken from my camera...but you get the idea. :D

Thanks,

womo

p.s. and yes...the wife is making me clean the garage now. hehe.

wow....amazing how manuverable that R2 is....looks like you have the hard part behind you....now for a screen-accurate skin (ANH?, ESB?, ROTJ?, prequel R2?)....

WOW. I was going "stop. he's gonna hit the bench." :lol

That's the most manuverable R2 I've seen...you make it look like it has built in sensors to prevent it from knocking into things...or does it? :eek

Great job Wayne. It looks great so far - lots of blood, sweat, and tears in that little guy.

Hey now we can race.... :) Well, I need to get started on my 2nd R2 just to keep up with all the progress going on. :)

Ohhh...a race....well I don't know if I can compete with the likes of a suped-up hyperdyne model....remember I was there and watched you beat EVERYBODY.

But I may give in...if the cash is right :p

Thanks for the compliments guys...it's been a long time coming.

Excellent work Wayne. Nice to see another R2 come along.... it's a project I myself hope to complete at some point in my life.

That was awsome, the pie pannel pieces opening and closing by remote is awsome :D

Great job, someday mine will get there

Chris

Man, that is one shiny dome. I need to put mine together. Have a bunch of parts but ran out of funds real quick. I had the aluminum fever but that gets to be uber expensive. Wish I had the RC knowhow that you do.
Keep up with the progress shots.

Wow, that is manuverable. Any chance you'll be able to fit his dome with a radar or pop up lightsaber :)

Dang, those panels are awesome Wayne.. Did you use a switch 16 or something, looks like you need lots of channels.

Yeah, I expect to see a pop up saber, a periscope, and a radar on that dome.. Of course then I will be forced to bow in your presence. :)

Well....I plan on having the scope and the scanner...never really thought about the saber. :D

I use a switch 32 from Vantec to go along with my 9CSuper. There will be no need to bow...I've seen your droid and it puts mine to shame :thumbsup

Thanks for the kind words.
