My new Ultimate TOS Colonial Viper model

It's a Moebius back end with a Revell front end, a Moebius canopy & Revell can inserts. This is an experiment in the best of both kits. LOTS of mods, lots of epoxy putty and I hope it will be as good as I think I can make it! We'll see. Stay tuned, Galactica fans.

I can honestly say this is the most work I've even done on a Viper, and this is my 12th one.
Just glued on the nose bits. The canopy is the final job...

Eight of them were for sale, I'll have so settle for a squadron of four.

I just finished building it. A light sanding of the fine stuff & glue blotches tomorrow, but it's basically done. The little things were extensive and seemingly unending. This IS my ultimate Viper; I'll never be able to (financially or mentally) mix these two kits again.
Prime & paint later as weather permits.

Yikes! Forgot to build up the wing to the guns! Epoxy puttied it just now. Easy fix, sand before painting.

Yes, the Revell/Monogram back end was a little 'thin', but the Moebius nose was a little 'thick' (and LONG).... hence my combination of the two. I am pleased with the results here.

I have to tell ya, this was not an easy build. Endless fitting and re-fitting, adjustments, making sure the fuselage was straight (after all, these two kits were not MADE to have interchangeable parts), and then lengthening the parts near the cans (and the cans themselves forward)... if I didn't LOVE this fighter so much, I'd have never tackled it.
