I was lucky enough recently to aquire this beauty for quite a song. It's a deactivated Webley Mark IV as used by Jack Harkness in Torchwood (and some Jones bloke?)

It's in beautiful condition, trigger cocks and you can dry fire. This is my first 'real' gun, and I love it, feels terrific, a really sweet addition to the collection :)

Crazily, I can legally purchased this in the UK, but could be prosecuted for picking up a Denix replica :rolleyes

That is a nice purchase and I had no idea Indiana Jones used the same gun either! How will you be displaying this piece?

I often look forward to your posts. In the short time that I've been a member here, I've read through a lot of your offerings and have always been impressed by the frequency of your work, it's just a pity that you don't have a thread dedicated to your collection as I bet it'd look rather splendid all together in the one place.

Thanks a lot :)

I think Indy used a Webley Green, similar to the MK IV, in Last Crusade, but I'm not an IJ expert.

I'm working on displaying the collection properley, stay tuned ;)

I thought it was too recent to be purchased because of the VCR Bill. Very nice piece though.

Deactivated real guns are not covered by the bill. Weird but true.

I can only guess that the bill, which specifically restricts ownership of replicas, regards deacs, which often cost as much as fully functional weapons, as beyond the means of common criminals. Or something.

Certainly that was the reason given that replica samurai swords were banned while real ones remain legal. A wall-hanger katana is much more dangerous than a replica pistol, tho...

Indy uses a similar gun in The Last Crusade, but not the same one as Captain Jack. In some scenes, it's a Webley MKVI, while in other scenes such as the Grail Temple, it is a variant known as the Webley-Green with a more rounded grip.

Jack uses a Webley Mk IV .38

All the Indy Webley guns are .455 anyway.
