Hi Guys.

I thought some of you may be interested in this current build of Mine....

The Moebius Jupiter-2 is 18" in diameter.

Some Mods I did were..

Opening Airlock, Space Pod Visable behind Air Lock Door, Ladder leading to lower Level, Scratch Built Astrogator Stool..

I have installed a working fusion Core and Upper Bubble Lighting effect, With electronics supplied to me by Randy at Voodo-FX.(Many, Many, Thanks Randy!!!!!).

I first opened up the Space Pod Bay and made a Working Hatch on One Side Only! If I Made the entire Hatch work, It would prevent me from making the Landing Gear Retractable at a Later Date.

You will see I mounted the "Push Button" Switch just inside the Bay.
You hit the button once and the Lights slowly power Up..Then go into a Take Off stage..Then hit the button again, and the Lights speed up to "In Flight Mode"..Hit the button again, and it drops down to hover or Landing Mode,..Once again and It powers off!!

Here is a Link to my You Tube Video..

Awesome mods to this great kit!

How hard were the electronics to install?

Are the figures from a secondary source?

Nicely done, thanks for sharing! I'm about ready to go down the Mobius J2 build path myself. You've set the mark high!

I got all my electronics from Randy at VoodoFX..Give him a call, he will help you out bigtime!!

The figures are from Lunar Models. They are the perfect Scale for this Kit. I have had this set for well over ten years..

I believe the great Jim Key did the sculpt on these...

The lighting effects were designed around the actual model and are as close to "drop in and go" as possible.

REAL REAL NICE!

I have those lunar model figures myself and those things are as sturdy as peanut brittle.

On the color scheme - did you follow the directions, or did you use the show as your guide? From the sites I've visited, there is mystery to what exact colors were used for some parts of the ship.

Did you use primer ? And how many coats of silver for the shell?

Sorry for all the questions - mine is just sitting here next to me waiting to be painted.

I am intimidated by this kit!
I can only hope when I get to working on mine it will look 1/3 as good as yours!

Great job!!:thumbsup

A good cure for that is to go out and get one of the Polar Lights and try to put one of those beasts together - after that nightmare, this kit will seem much much easier.

Howdy!

I used some colors from the instruction sheets and some I used my own references...

For the outer Hull I sprayed it Tamiya Mica Silver from a rattle can(Tamiya spray paints are the best!!!)..WITH SEVERAL PASSES.....However I DID NOT PRIME IT..

Holy crap! The detail on that is insane!

Really REALLY nice build up!

BeatlePaul,
I just found this build. Excellently done with a beautiful interior to boot!! Thanks for posting.

I saw this before I was a member and I was really impressed with how the floor of the spaceship looks waxed. Love it!

Awesome build Paul! My Moebius J2 and Space Pod are still in the box. I need to find the time, and get into the right frame of mind to start such a big project like the J2.

Nice Work!
