My Master Chief helmet

hey everyone, this is my Master Chief helmet ive been woking on for about three weeks now and have just goten the first two coats of the aqua resin done, please coment and tell me what you think about it and any suggestions you might have.

I like it so far, but I am a newbie to this whole Pep thing. Still practicing my craft! How did you like the Aqua resin? I am always interested in non toxic or less toxic alternatives!! Can you give us some details on it? I know there are some of us who have wanted to try it, so any info would be a help. Also, where did you order yours?

thanks, im also new to this type of thing, but i have done one other hemet using some casting resin from hobbylobby and the aqua resin is a thousand times better, its cheeper, its harder, non toxic, and it dries in about an hour as aposed to a full day with the crap from hobbylobby. i got 2 starter kits that came with some fiberglas vail and some aqua resin for $20 each from a shop in atlanta, but im sure there are tons of places nonline, if there isnt somewhere nearby.

Sounds good to me! I also saw on their website a guy who made his entire Halo armor with it. So I am guessing it is strong and light weight??

its vary hard and it is relatively light weight.

You are putting the Aqua Resin inside the helmet right?? I don't know if its gonna be easy to sand if you keep putting on the outside!!

yeah im going to do 1 coat of resin with a layer of fiberglas vail on the inside, and the aqua resin is suprisingly easy to sand so i dont think ill have any problems with that.

here it is with the last coat of resin on the outside, one on the inside, and i also fiberglassed the inside and have started to sand it down.

When you said "fiberglassed" I assume you meant using the Aqua resin and fiberglass veil on the inside right?

ive been working on sanding the helmet down (mostly working on the detail parts) with a dremil tool and its turning out really nice so far.

hey guys, ive been sanding and smoothing things out, and also cutting out some details with a dremil tool. then i sprayed it with black paint so that i can see imperfections a little better.
