My LOTR display

Here's a pic of my small LOTR display:

The Red Book of Westmarch replica is one of my cherished possesions as I was one of the contributors who worked to create it. The ink bottle is a project I commissioned for a small run a while back. I've displayed them next to signed photos of Elijah Wood and Sean Austin, and a metallic map of Middle Earth. :)

Looks cool Al. Nice little LOTR corner.

A visit through your house must be a veritable prop journey.

Cheers.

Steve :)

Very nice.

I'd be interested in seeing better photos of the book and ink well if you have them available.

:)

Kris, please feel free to post away. :)

Here's a few images bluefive, sorry some of the pics are not the best:

Wow. I thought the book was just a decorated cover for display. It looks great on the inside. Did you create the pages in the book?

The book is complete, cover to cover. :)

It was joint project (took around 2 years start to finish) over at Lord of the Rings guide.com

I came up with the initial idea and wrote 'The Hobbit' section from Bilbo's POV. My friend Dunedain87 did a brilliant job rewriting LOTR from Frodo's POV and a section by Samwise. A fellow LOTRG member (Choopie) submitted the excellent contributions from the library at Rivendell and the very talented Indy Magnoli scribed it all in pen and Ink with his own illustations and maps etc. - he did a breathtaking job, too. :)

A true fan-art project of fellowship which I am proud to have played a part in. :)

As one of the privileged few who have one of these books, I would like to again thank Al for having the original idea and deep desire to make a difficult and immense project like this actually happen. Although a number of people created this masterpiece, make no mistake, it was Al's vision that made it so.

Here are a few more pics of the book:

Wow... I gotta say that is one of the coolest things I've ever heard of... Next to Star Wars, LOTR is my favorite story of all time. Truly a work of art. The movies were very well done, but the books are what really take me back to my childhood. (And my D&D days.)

Any chance of seeing the text you guys wrote for this project???

I think you can still order it from Indy Magnoli (hes a member of the boards here i beleive as well). www.indyprops.com. I have some of his Indy stuff (grail diary in particular). He does AMAZING work.

Yes, I'm still offering these if anyone is interested, just send me a PM or e-mail for details.

I also sell blank versions of this journal if anyone cares to pen their own version or just use it as a general diary/sketch book.

Kind regards,
Indy

The book is truely a work of art. I'm totally in awe of it. I would definately love to have one. Even the blank journal is just beautiful. Are the pages in the blank journal suitable for sketching? It would make such a beautiful sketch book.

Email sent :D

Thanks. Yes, the ivory paper is heavy weight with a light texture perfect for drawing with ink or pencil.

Kind regards,
Magnoli
