O.K. so this may not be one that shoots flames but it will do for now. This is a kit that was sold by nicksdad and is a real nice kit. The kit is aluminum and resin. All the metal parts were nicely machined. The resin parts needed just a light sanding to remove some flash. The gun was primed and then painted Tamiya semi-gloss black. A clear coat was added to protect the paint.
The kit comes with some nice simple electronics as well. The kit has a green 5mm LED for the barrel, a toggle switch that acts as the on/off switch, and a switch mounted behind the trigger. Now, I can never leave things the way they are. :love I did do a few mods. I replaced the button cell battery holder for a 2 AAA battery pack. It fits nicely in the grip area.
I also cut down the clear tube inside the barrel. The green 5mm LED lit this up nicely but I wanted more power! I have used Luxeon LEDs in a few other projects and I used a green 3watt Luxeon in this one. It sits over the hole where the clear tube went. The LED was wired up and the cut down clear tube was epoxied over it. Now, a Luxeon produces much more light than a regular LED and projects its light out at a 90 degree angle, much better than a regular LED of 45 degree. So without further delay, enjoy the pics! Thanks to nicksdad for making such a nice kit
