u can see the measuring tape and small log on the top there thats to keep it in position i have cut the perspex there to the shape of the wooden design on the top similar to the shape on my x wing toy where the back end of the x wing meets the hatch.

1.the love for making starwars props

ive began adding the wooden frame to the hatch here just using strips of the same 1 inch wood ive used for the coverings for the x wings body ☺

u can't have enough pics or angles when ur making stuff like this ☺.
when i made the back end of the x wing by the way i made the skeleton frame for the rear end and sat a piece of the wood on top to replicate the height it would be using a pool cue or long cut off piece of wood to lay at an angle going from the start of the cockpit up to the start of the top of the rear end and adjusted it accordingly till was happy then i attached it to the rest of the x wing and began to add its coverings sounds easy i know . i kept adjusting it a tiny bit here and there stepping bk and holding my toy x wing looking back and forth till i was happy it was close enough ☺.
