Hello all,
I've been designing in SolidWorks for a couple of years now and I have a couple of 3d printers. So I decided to do a Kylo Ren hilt specifically designed to print in personal fff 3d printers. There are 3 main body pieces, still thinking is I should break away the side blade cylinders to print them separately or leave them and print the top part as a whole. The pros of printing them as a whole is that the side tubes will be stronger if printed all as one part but it will take more plastic with the supports. Now I wanted to also print the side blades in clear PLA. I'll be printing them at a rather high temperature to get a clear effect with only two perimeters so leds will shine trough nicely. The idea is to have everything screw on so all the main pieces and the side blades will have screws, so after printing they will just screw on. Still need to work on the belt buckle clip and the wire holders.

Here's a pic of the print preview of the top part with supports.
