My Jedi Council Lightsabers

Finally acquiring a 'bastardized maul' saber I now have a complete set of all the hero sabers made for The Phantom Menace. I also realized that I had too many sabers and not enough display space, so decided I wanted to do something with my TPM sabers like I had seen on the DVD. I found a hard case made by Vanguard to carry photographic equiptment which was exactly the right size to carry 6 lightsabers.

Here is a screen shot from my DVD showing the hilts as they were presented to Ewan McGregor:

Here are the same lightsabers in my collection (the Obi-Wan is a Larbel which I modified, and the Qui-Gonn is a prototype done by Darth Hez several years ago):

And here are my sabers resting nicely in their new Vanguard case:

I was actually looking for a similar case.. where can I find one?

Re: My Jedi Counsel Lightsabers

Thanks!

It's a Vanguard VGP-13 and can be seen on Vanguard's website here:

I'm extremely happy with it. I bought mine on eBay for about $38. Smaller and larger case sizes are available. The VGP-13 has the minimum inside dimensions you'll need to accomodate a Qui-Gon saber oriented like mine above.

Looking good my friend, glad to see the collection has all come together!

Superb, I remember watching that scene when the DVD first came out and thinking how totally cool it would be to have a case like that!! :thumbsup

That's a great collection you have there. I didn't know Hez had ever made a QGJ. Learn something new everyday.

Re: My Jedi Counsel Lightsabers

As far as I know, the Qui-Gon I got from Darth Hez was a prototype for a new run he was planning but then aborted when it was announced that Master Replicas and been awarded a license.

Interestingly, after I had had the saber for a few years I took it apart one day to give it a thorough cleaning (I have a dusty apartment) and I realized that it had been built to accomodate an EL electronics package. I had never known it up until that time.
