Ooh! Me likey!
Couldn't resist another pic. Had to suit up to make sure the stripes on the pants matched as closely as possible.
Lol I just realized I don't own any white shirts.....chalk that up to being a messy eater
I'm definitely going to have to do a wide cumerbund or a modified black waistcoat to fill in the gaps.
Should have the pants striped tonight.

My dad's the same way, except almost all his shirts are white. It becomes a bit of a mess! lol
Halfway done on the front of the pants.

If I can do an hour or two every night, I'm right on track to finish in time.

Still plugging along. I'm gonna have to kick it into high gear this week.
Apparently the Halloween festivities in Raleigh are taking place this weekend rather than the Friday and Saturday immediately after the 31st.
So, I'm having to bump my timeline up by 5 days.
Is gonna be tight, but hopefully we will make it.
Here's the back of the jacket after the first pass of fabric paint.
The lines ended up being closer together but I don't think anyones going to be paying much attention to the back anyway.

Sorry for the lack of posts.
I've been really busy.
The jacket is at the tailors having the buttons on either side of the lapels repositioned so it sits evenly.
I'm also having them add a loop and eye closure so I can close the jacket.
I also took a white turtleneck and cut the bottom off of a black shirt and made it longer. Its almost like a dress that comes to my hips.
If you look closely at the pic in the bottom you can see it. I've since added stripes....to make my legs look longer.
It's getting very close now. Will post more pics soon. Here's a small teaser for now. Please excuse the mess has been absolute chaos.

Almost forgot! I'm still working on my fiance's no sew Sally dress as well.

I still need to cut the bottom of the dress, but it's almost done.

This is fascinating to me, because I work in Disneyland and I see Jack and Sally every day.
Your head is far better than Disney's. If people haven't seen the Disney Parks Jack character, the head is bizarre. The reason is that Disney has two different categories for characters:
1) the ones wearing full suits including fully enclosed heads
2) the "face characters" where you're seeing the actor's face.
Only face characters can speak onstage. They decided to make Jack a face character, but he's actually a strange hybrid, with a full character head that has a cutout so his mouth and chin show. The head shape is very strange.
About the costume, the white lines on the Disney Parks Jack are sewn-on white fabric.
The Disney Parks Sally wig is amazing, and it takes a lot of care to keep the hair hanging perfectly straight. When not performing onstage the Sally actress has the wig all pinned up.

I agree with Dr Jones Sr: your Jack head is much better than the Disney one; it's probably because of the eyes. Round eyes seem less frightening to little kids than the more realistic ones of the character. The one at Disney doesn't even look like Jack Skellington, IMO.
