After a few weeks of recreating chesters license i was finally able to go ahead with my own replica wallet. It was very difficult to find a very similar wallet like the one from the film so the one i got is close enough. It looks like to me copperpot never had real money in his wallet just a bunch of scrap paper maybe notes he wrote trying to find one eyed willy's treasure.I found some replica money from 1917 got some good scans and gave it some age and some burn marks. Please excuse the lou gherig card i'm still waiting for the real card to come in the mail.I tried referencing off of indy's wallet best i could from his site and indy makes a fantastic replica to say the least :cheers.I aged the wallet simply by rubbing sandpaper along the edges and surface. Here are some pics of my wallet i hope it looks good to everyone as i think it does, please give your feedback :).

Also The chester copperpot newsprint is made by our own "JediFyfe" (Brad) they are spot on be sure to pick one up from him they make a great display for your goonies props
:thumbsup.

Looks REALLY good Mike. Good job! Thanks for the Shout-out! Your skills at prop replicating are getting better by the day.

Brad

Thanks brad i appreciate the compliment and you make great stuff time and time again :thumbsup.I'm trying the best i can at prop replicating each day.If it weren't for all the talented prop makers on this forum i wouldn't know how to do anything as i still feel like I'm useless lol.I'm very fortunate to be apart of this forum and learn from everyone,it's really great over here.

Top notch, man. I really like the aging you've done on the items. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the compliment serenity i still have a bit more aging to do on the wallet but overall i'm pretty much done with this.

Nice work mate.

I feel the same about being a leech on the great skills within this forum lol

I think you've done an excellent job. That's a prop I tried myself. I put everything together, but I still haven't found a wallet that I like. Right now I'm using an old wallet of my own until I find the right one.

Anyhow, two thumbs up to you! (y)thumbsup

Mike

I finished up my Wallet the other day and thought I'd post some pics here.

Looks aewsome adam you did a fantastic job with it :love god i love goonies props :)

Looks great!!

In April I had my Chester Copperpot wallet signed by Sean Astin. He seemed abit confused..kind of speechless then said, "This is really cool."

He just signed the inside...I wish he had personalized it a bit but not a lot of room.

Love it, Pitbull!

I finally tracked down a version off Ebay that had a similar "snap flap."

When I have time to finally finish it, hopefully it will look half as good as yours. :cool

Resurrecting this thread in the hope of some help finding a suitable wallet to start mine off.

Anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can get a close wallet ?
I have spent hours trawling through Ebay and have not found anything close :wacko

Wish I could help you more. Best I remember, it was total randomness or luck in me finding something similar.

I found this wallet while doing some christmas shopping, its not exact, but the big window caught my eye.
What do you think?
