I was 15 years old. Full on posterboard....the helmet was a cheap kids stormtrooper face mask taped on to a white motorcycle helmet, the blaster was wood. This was scanned from an old Polaroid pic my mom had. Dont laugh, i thought i was pretty cool at the time.
Seriously, I started reading this thread thinking the exact same thing. I used to run the idea over in my head again and again and again as I went to sleep. I would have been an 8 year old Stormtrooper if I managed to do anything about it--lol.

The times I would design armour on paper and think how I could make a real suit when it was a young kid is unreal. Thinking I would have to make the armour from wood and carve it...crazy:lol
My cardboard efforts used to look something similar to your photo, though the helmets were always terrible and kind of origami style:wacko
I think it was a great attempt all things considered. I was 10 at the time and we were so poor, I couldn't even afford the imagination of coming up with a costume. Thanks for bringing back the memories.:thumbsup
Love this photo. Agree with everyone saying it's great considering the situation. It really makes you think...wow, I should go ahead and make that project I've been avoiding...the first run will teach me so much...and turn out better than I'd hoped probably!
