Hello all, ive been watching all of the exciting threads that have been created here by some amazing artists. I decided to try my hand at sculpting a Deathstroke mask, and eventually make a complete costume. Keep in mind that this is my version of a Deathstroke mask. i have also never sculpted, worked with silicone molds or resin compounds. So please forgive any mistakes that i may have done in completing this project.

I first started by taking measurements of my head. with these measurements i cut out pieces of foam insulation and glued them together.

After the glue dried i shaped the foam into a head platform in which to sculpt the mask.

Now i began the process of building up clay and shaping the mask. It took about 16 hours total to sculpt the mask.

Now the fun begins. I built a dam around the mask with foam core. I started with a thin coat of silicone. After the silicone set, i built up thickened layers of silicone to form a 1/4" mold.

I used fiberglass resin and matting to make a shell around the silicone mold.

Now i mixed the resin and cast the mask.

After it set i pulled it! It was really satisfying seeing the mask out of the mold. only a couple of air pockets around the eye as well as some pitting. overall i was happy with the end result.

I filled in imperfections with a glazing compound. sanded the mask and coated it with three coats of a primer filler and sanded again.

I painted the mask with orange, masked the center and painted with black. After it dried, i clear coated it. i think it looks really good!

Now im going to sculpt the rear head piece, and cast in resin.

i finally finished the rear head piece. I credit WayneEnterprise for the pics and whom i based my head piece from. thanks a lot! I used nylon straps riveted on to the mask to secure them. on side is adjustable and the other side has a quick release. I also padded the perimeter of the mask with foam and black fleece. I hope you like it. thanks for looking!

...And a pic of me wearing it. Its a bit long in the chin area, but i found that it helps with air circulation.

Now starts the process of building the suit..... wish me luck.
