My First Sculpt Head First Resin Latex#120 Apocalypse Pred

Ok-- I decided to do this--  I have a bucket of a mismash of different clays that I  used for dams, dread sculpts, molds, whatever-- and I wanted to use it all up and get some new stuff. So I was sitting here tonight after getting back from the studio and started slapping it on a lifecast head that I had lying around.

After about 2 hours of work, this is what I came up with. I realize that there is a LOT more to go-- I dont even know what I am shooting for here, but anyhow, here is the progress-- Im thinking of putting scales on it, that is what the little piece is on the top right now--not sure but you never know what the heck I will do here. I am really loving this.Obviously a lot of symmetry issues and such , but this is just the rough shape for now.

So anyhow-- here ya go

I agree with Jose, the first time is always a bad look....  but don't stop, go on and fix it till it ends up like a pro skulp!

:D

Just have a look at my first try.....

o_O  Well.. Alright, If you think so keep at it man.
Its a matter of personal preference on this one-- Im not trying to create any specific style -- Just winging it. As I progress Im sure there are a lot of changes I will make,

The look is spot on great man, I remember my first sulpt and took 6 months to get it how I wanted it to look.  Yours will be great in time as well I am sure of it, just make sure you get alot of pics as you go for your own reference as well.

that looks wild man, love seeing new stuff. im afraid to even try. cause then i have to cast and everything. trying foam now but horrible so far.

Dont be afraid to try-- "if you are afraid to fail you will never succeed---"  I kind of felt the same way but this has spurred me on to do even more now!  Grab some clay and get to it!

The one thing you have to learn is its just clay and its your Yautja make its head how you want it to look, above all have fun doing it no reason to be afraid to try you can never mess it up in its clay stage all you can do is benefit from the experience of learning how to sculpt.  For example look at Eaglewood's head that could be yours and in time depending what Yautja look your going for it will become even more like it, in time his will look just how he wants it and it will be perfect to him. All
in all never doubt your skill even if you have never tried it may look bad to you at first but with patience it will amount to something you can look forward to.

Thanks Sythous-- I agree!!!

Here are some updates-- As I said, I dont even know what look Im going for -- Im letting it tell me how it wants to look. As I get to work, I just go with whatever feels right-- I change things, put them back, add, modify and basically just have a LOT of fun here. It will be done when its done. And really -- I am not worried if its not perfect in symmetry and such, Heck, who of us are??   As long as it looks good to me when its done, then thats enough.  I know I have to work on the brow and such, bu tit will all come

But... I wonder... do you use clay or plasticine? This green colored stuff looks like it. o_O

I actually just got some new white clay, but I had a mix of a bunch of stuff I wanted to use up, thats why the green, brown, white, etc-- Still lots of detail to do and then lots of smoothing, etc
