My first prop collection (Jurassic Park) - New Addition 03-21-2013

Re: My first prop collection (Jurassic Park) - New Additions 10-10-2011

Thanks for the link. The Discovery Channel Online store has one too and it looks identical but they say theirs is an exclusive. Are you very pleased with yours?

Yeah, I like it. A few pieces are a bit tough to put together, and the paint job isn't stellar right up close, but you can't go wrong for the price, and there's a thread on here somewhere showing off the re-paints people have done with it.

Very cool display! Your inspiring to get printing
some of the paper stuff! (Also been watching out for a 93 jeep...)

Thanks! There are some awesome JP paper props here. I still need to print out a couple myself!

Very nice display!! I love the Velociraptor bursting through the wall, gotta get one of those for my room! :)

Thanks! I like to just go in there and check it out from time to time. There are still a few pieces to acquire/receive before it's truly finished , though. And of course, then there're the sequels if I want to keep it going. :)

A couple new items have been added to the collection.

First off, the license plate from Nedry's Jeep bought from the Junkyard:

For all intents and purposes, my Nedry shelf is now complete. Still might try and track down his mug and slot machine toy, but I'm pretty happy with this.

And second, as mentioned above, a piece my buddy made for me on acetate with hand-drawn background, Mr. DNA:

Still need to get it framed. Anyone know where I can buy an animation cell frame that's not super expensive?

So I apparently haven't updated my collection pics here in a really long time! I'm working on the whole display, but I wanted to share my newest acquisition. It's been one of my grails, and I didn't think I was ever going to get one for a multitude of reasons. I'm going to make a custom display box for it in the near future, but I wanted to share initial pics now. May I present to you, the SPAS-12:

This isn't the real gun, as those are prohibitively expensive, and just slightly illegal to import into the US. This is the discontinued Tokyo Marui airsoft replica, which is a 1:1 scale replica, and has a metal folding stock. It also came with seven shells that I'll be incorporating into the display box. I am beyond happy with this purchase, and am really glad I was able to add this to the collection.

I'm only a few items away from having all the Jurassic Park props on my wishlist. Hopefully I'll be able to find them all. And updated pics of the whole collection coming soon!
