More Progress : Helmet is getting filled and sanded!

Started om the chest plate - I really didn't know I'd have to mod the files this much!

Im learning that its dedication you need for this type of work!

You guys make it look easy!

The photo of the chest piece (on the beige carpet) is the sum of half a days work!

The arc reactor i got from ebay :) sweet!

Thanks for reading!

Arc was £36 - sweet hu?

UPDATE : Started on the Back!

Spent most of the day finishing the front and starting the backplate!

lots of filling etc to do but can't wait to start on the arms! :)

YES great to see us Brits jumping in here and having some fun!

Anyone got paint ideas for war machine? with photos?

-----

its a busy week at work..im in london for three days :( really enjoying this

thanks for the feedback!

AMAZING. Very awesome work so far brother... I'm working on some War Machine parts and they look terrible compared to this. =)

Thanks!
------------------------------

So I'm back from London and Ive been busy! So far Ive made

One complete shoulder

Two Biceps (with some work left to do)

1 Forearm

See pics

Still learning so much...Making a bicep fit was a long job!

Dont rush in wasting foam ppl! make a paper version first! ;)

UPDATE: My First project: Warmachine Ironman Foam Costume

Day off so I'm busy on the warmachine -

Thought I'd post a pic of me wearing the stuff!

I'm going to start on the legs next as the front and back 'welding together' is starting to get me down!!..

Hard work...

I'm using the same pattern and I found that I had a lot of problems scaling the parts to fit. I'm fairly muscular in build and getting the forearm scaled up high enough at the elbow end to taper down to the wrist basically made it so I had a shoe box on my arm... your attempt looks a lot better.

Shoulder - My First project: Warmachine Ironman Foam Costume

Hey all - Im off to France for a week so no more build for me :(

Just wanted to update you regarding 'seams' in my foam.

SO i did a really bad job of the war machine shoulder!

I looked around for lots of different ways to fill the gaps...

I went to my local £1 shop ($1) and picked up some filla and PVA glue

and it all went horribly wrong from their.. the glue was just flakey and cheap!

I happen to see xrobots.co.uk blog about a certain TYPE of PVA glue (5 Litres£10 from Wickes) and OMG! awesome

I can't tell you how good this looks in real life it flexible and too :)

Please see pics below :_

Cant wait to Prime and Paint this Up!

Cheers PPL!

Re: Shoulder - Back from France: My First project: Warmachine Ironman Foam Costume

Hey all !

Back from France and back on Warmachine!

Went to my Local paint shop today picked up some grey primer and Steel grey Metalic Spray paint!

I hit the shoulder with the paint and was REALLY happy at the outcome!

So i got straight to work on PVA glue coating the top armour (see pic)

Looking forward to filling and sanding it down after its first coat has dried out!

Thing is the shoulder does look a-bit 'lumpy bumpy' - BUT I've learned a lot about making the next one TEN TIMES better!

Cheers all

still busy working on the chest plate & back - i came across these plasterboard screws in the garage!!

I made a small cut and chopped the bigger part of the wall plug away, pusher the remainder into the chest plate!! BOOM!

I've now placed a few more over the rest of the chest/backplate!

can't wait to spray this up!

what do u guys think?..
