my first go at IRONMAN for my 7 year old

So far it looks great man, keep up the good work. As far as the colors go there's been a few suggestions on the forum, might want to take some spare foam and test it to see what would make you happiest first. They're as follows:

Duplicolor: Dark Cherry
Duplicolor: Toreador Red Metallic
Duplicolor: Claret Red Metallic
Duplicolor: Red Garnet Metallic
Duplicolor: Barcelona Red

Then some people have used automotive touch up paints.
xRobots used: Ford Jupiter Red Metallic

Hey mate, congrats on the build! Will look amazing when it's painted!

Which part of the UK are you in? Drack recommended Hycotes paints to me, after I'd heard Halfords paints aren't that good. Had a look in my local Wilco Motosave and found em; they're in East Anglia, The East Midlands, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

It's hard just from looking at the cans to see which red is best, but they had the little matching touch up pens as well, which are in transparent tubes. I went with the Citroen Wicked Red but haven't had chance to test it yet.

Let us know which paint you go with and how it turns out. Good luck mate; bet your son/daugher will love it! :)

cheers mate i have been looking on ebay but you cant really judge if its the right red .thats my seconed go at the helmet i used thinner foam this time i wanna try making the hand repulser but im not to cleaver on wiring led's

For the hand repulsors I'm going to canabalise a couple of those small cheap LED torches. I bought two for about $3AUD each and going to use the mobo and battery packs from them and then just wire them up together with the push button microswitch from the torch as well so they can just be pushed on and off. Also using coke bottle lids to house the lights etc. I haven't put it up in my thread yet, but I'll try and remember to do up a WIP process when I make them up.

Hey mate. Not sure if you've got the repulsors sorted yet but here are a couple of pics of how I made them up in case you're still looking for a way.

I pulled the microswitch and lights out of a small LED torch, the rest I just cobbled together. First pic is of the parts seperately, and second is it all put together. I didn't end up using the little chrome housing that is seen around the lights in the first pic.

If you have any questions or anything feel free to ask and I'll try and answer them :).
