My Farnsworth....Pic heavy

Well, I decided that I wanted a crate to put it in. I wish I had a Warehouse 13 stencil to paint the lid with. The paint came out well. I put a heavy coat of brown paint, then a light coat of black, more brown, then when it just started to get dry, I soaked a paper towel in paint thinner and dabbed all over the box, giving it an old grubby texture. Then followed by more light coats of brown and black, the black heavy in some areas and light in others. The red lens lights up when you push the button and there is a ring tone that sounds when you touch the two side jack together with a piece of metal. The faceplate was the hardest piece, having totally missed both runs, I had to get my own made at a local shop. He made me buy a minimum order of four, but thankfully I was able to get three others to go in on it with my. (Thanks again guys)

Without further ado...

Nice work.
I was thinking of making a box as well but just settled on a bag instead since I already had the materials.

Great work...yeh, I currently have mine just sat in my Detolf cabinet and have been thinking about making a crate to 'expand' the display.

Btw, have you got any pics of underneath your faceplate as I need help with the electronics with mine, to get the red light lit?

Love the paint job on your Farnsworth

No pics underneath, but it's pretty straightforward. White LED under the lens, positive anode to the battery positive connector, negative anode to one of the posts on the switch. The other switch post is wired to the negative battery connector. Push switch, light the LED.

Cheers....yeh, that does sound simple. Thanks :) Hopefully will get my lit very soon
