My Evilmau5 Head

LA Forever

Me and my 3 friends decided to make mau5heads for Halloween and other events. Here it is in a sort of step-by-step fashion. Thanks to this forum and other how-to-guides on the net, I believe ours came out pretty good compared to the other heads I've seen.

Mine's the black Evilmau5, while my friends did a gray, red, and blue/black colorway.

From start to finish:

How it all started, with the 14" acrylic globes and the 6" ones as well:

I think my next mau5head will be an all white one.. it looks so clean:

On my friend's helmets, we're going to try and block out the LED so it won't shine and be seen directly from the outside:

It's complete with 2 electrical fans and a push-button switch:

What do you guys think? We took around 2 months making these as we took our sweet little time.

Honest feedback? Thank you. :)

I think mine looks the best out of all of them. :love

Thanks!

The mouth is actually 3 layers. The first layer is 1/2" metal mesh, the kind they use for landscaping and such, and the other 2 layers are of a screen door mesh-type material we found at Home Depot.

i wonder, so much room inside to take advantage of....

have them be able to pop out little retractable horns? fangs? a push button prerecorded "muhahahahahahhahahah" laugh?

just saying. because as cool as cool is, there is always something cooler.

We were thinking of adding stuff like that, but decided to keep it simple. For our next one, we'll add more out of the box things. :thumbsup

They look great! Few questions though. How did you cut the fabric? Like how many pieces and what shapes? I don't really see any seams!

Each head, we did it differently. With mine, since it was black, you could actually cut the fabric anywhere in the back without it really being seen, but with the other colors, it was apparent that the fabric was cut. We cut it 3 times in the back, so that it won't be seen from the front. From afar, you can't see any seams, but if you look at it up close, you'll see it.
