My ESB R2-D2 Overhaul!!

Well after two years of collecting missing aluminum parts for my ESB R2-D2, he is finally getting the overhaul. When completed he will be 100% Aluminum with most of the doors and latches opening by servos. R2 will have a retractable Periscope and Radar just like in ESB. The only two aluminum parts I am still missing are the Computer Data arm and the Grabber Arm used by R2 to grab the lamp back from Yoda in ESB. Hopefully, everything will be programmed through my iPad which will make R2 run different programs with sound, music, and options.

Yes, this is after two years of collection missing aluminum parts from runs. Finally most of the doors will mostly open and the periscope and Radar scanner will go up and down just like in the ESB. If anyone has an aluminum data arm and grabber arm that they won't be installing anytime soon and are willing to sell to me so I can finish my R2 please email me directly. Thanks!!

Very nice work!

Quick question...Are you having a custom skin made that replicates the body panel layout as seen in ESB? Pretty much all of the skin runs from the R2 Builders have been based on the ANH layout. While I have seen a very few completely accurate ESB droids out there over the years, they are very few and far between.

It's what was available. I am weathering it like R2 was seen in ESB and using the tools he used, i.e. Periscope, Radar, etc...
