My E-11A1 Blaster Pistol

While researching my E-11 build (WIP) I came accross this entry in wookieepedia "A carbine version of this weapon was also produced as well as the smaller E-11A and E-11A1, capable of fitting a pistol holster, largely because the extendable stock had been removed" This got me thinking and building. So while waiting for parts to arrive I purchased a Hasbro and made this. Gentlemen I humbly submit for your consideration the E-11A1 blaster pistol.

One of the ones I've been using recently is to paint the gun a silver or gunmetal color after a few coats of primer. then, put mustard(the condiment) on areas that should look worn, spraypaint black, then clean off the mustard

well all I have under this is primer, how would I brush it with silver? what kind of brush and what paint?

If you're adding a worn effect after painting, you can use the "dry brush" technique. Use a cheap disposable brush, and some silver acrylic paint. Use acrylic so it won't attack the black coat. Dip the brush in the silver paint, and wipe most of it off on a paper towel, leaving just a small amount on the brush. Then brush it onto the blaster, in light gentle strokes. A small amount of silver will show, mostly on raised areas. If you overdo it, a little alcohol on a paper towel will remove it without hurting the black.

You can also try rubbing some graphite into the black paint, this will give the black a more metallic look. Both of these techniques work best on a flat finish, which looks like what you used. Nice job on the blaster, cool idea :thumbsup

That´s a really nice idea, I like it.

Don´t weather it to much - regulary soldiers take care of their equipment.

santicity, it's Star Wars. The E-11 is a stormtrooper's rifle; this is an extrapolated design.

Nice work TK1961, it looks really believable. Funnily enough it reminds me of the little gun that came with the very first stormtrooper figures:

So it's almost as if they were carrying your version. :)

Another good approach is to spray silver paint onto sheets of paper & let dry. Then you can cut it up into little squares and rub onto all the edges. Perfect if you just want some subtle weathering.
This shot of the trigger shows the effect pretty well.

Interesting - never before heard about that. I think i will give it a try for scale modelling some day, maybe it works with other paints the same nice way. :)

Wow I guess it does resemble this.
