My E-11 build completed!

I posted this originally in the "What's on your workbench" thread but since I've completed it, I thought I'd start a new thread to show the progress of my build.

I started with a brass barrel which I drilled and cut to size according to the BBC templates.

I got some resin parts from Doopydoos (highly recommended and easy to work with) and a real Sterling folding stock from wtac.

I also got the Hengster counter, the scope and the mag cylinders from Barking Dragon (thanks again, Dan!).

After epoxying and filling:

The brass tube and the folding stock made the blaster hefty.

Here are some after primer pics:

I then sprayed it with undercoat silver and left it to cure for about a week before spraying the satin black. I left the folding stock as is.

After a bit of weathering, this is what I ended up with (tracks are Saberfreak's):

Nothing beats a real Sterling and real parts but since bringing in a real one would get me in all sorts of trouble in my neck of the woods, I'll settle for this! It's been a fun project.:)

Now all I need is the ROTJ Fett blaster and my favorite SW blasters collection will be complete!

By the way, anyone know where I can get the MR E-11 scope reticle graphics?

Very nice.

I have a box of stuff from doopydoos laying around and a blaster core with the color screen I may have to get to work on.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Damn - that's a nice build - well done Man. I've got my own goin' on here too.

How are the resin trigger-guard and front sight? Are they fragile? I looked at going that route - but I've not had that much experience with resin - and worried about them being in quite exposed areas.

Thanks, skiffy. Saw your build thread; you've got a nice mixture going on there. Good luck with the build!

The resin parts are ok if the blaster is for display only, which is what mine is. If you intend to handle it often, e.g. for trooping, then you should probably go with metal.

I love the metal tubing. I am tired of the lack of heft pvc guns have and hate filling them to get the heavier feel.

Gonna have to try your method.

Thanks for posting

Cheers

Sebastian

Nice build!
I don't mean to Hijack your thread but thought it might help.... If not I'll move along!
I'm actually making pretty much the same gun although I'm going down the hero ESB route with a real M19 scope no counter or cylinders.
Can I make one suggestion? The folding stock you are using was from the Canadian Sterling and has the ridges running down it. The British ones used for the OT had the other variant of stock. I have both. The British one is on my Sterling conversion and the Canadian is on my scratch build. You can easily rectify this with a bit of body filler. As you can see it still needs a little work and the blaster needs a lot of work! Here's a pic of my modified stock.....

Thanks for the scope graphics, guys! Nex, the scope visual effects with cd-roms is a uniquoe trick... I'll be sure to try it out.

sskunky, I had thought about filling the ridges on my stock but then decided against it as I kinda liked the crinkly paint on it. Thanks for the suggestion, bro.

Looks great! I will have to put this on my list of projects to work on eventually, it looks fantastic!

Truly a superb build all the way around, Bravo!

Where would one find one of those Sterling Stocks?
My all resin E-11 could use an up-grade.
