ok.. not exactly a model, but I suppose it fits lol
I'm still in the early stages with this figure but decided to post it anyway.

While I'm impressed with Sideshow's Vader, I'm not certain that I'll be able to afford one and I would like to be able to remove his helmet which I'm not certain can be done on the Sideshow one.
So, I decided to make my own.

I tried making a mould of the helmet so I could make a reveal one but it never set up so I'm cleaning it up and going to re-paint it.
He is a little shorter than he should be, but I'm planning to fix that

the Helmet is a modified Vader candy holder with a hasbro dome

the Body-suit, boots, and inner robe came from the Hasbro Episode 3 Vader.

Hands are from the Episode 2 Jango Fett figure. I bought two so I could make Jango and Boba and had a few hands left over.. I modified them to work on a G3.5 body and added pleather gauntlets. I'll probably be replacing the boots soon.

If anyone wants to know which candy Vader heads I'm talking about, it's this one

it was a "lollipop holder" that I got around the time episode 3 came out.
I cut the dome off and added an army helmet (which I altered and added magnets to) and then I use the Hasbro dome on top.
Let me show what I mean (warning.. the areas covered by the dome are NOT pretty)

I have made a tiny bit of progress and started re-painting the helmet

I have made him taller but still have about half an inch to go

Dooku however is just about perfect

over on OSW someone asked how I was modding the bodies.
I stripped Dooku and took some pics

Anyone else think I should harvest the head on the left?

While I'm busy altering Vader's suit, I decided to make myself a couple of Stormtroopers.
The one in front is using Hasbro armor (altered) and the helmet from a McDonalds bobblehead. The rear one uses the armor from a vinyl kit I bought on ebay.

I know they aren't that great, and they also aren't finished but I think they'll do the trick for the moment.

Love the Stormtroopers. Isn't it sad that a McDonalds .99 cent toy looks way better than a Hasbro 20.00 figure?

It really is, that Hasbro helmet was just godawful.

The armor wasnt half bad after repainting and adjusting it's fit.
I mean, it's nowhere near Sideshow's but it works for my purposes at the moment.

I made some (minor) progress on the stormtrooper that I'll call "skinny" today.

I still need to make his forearms a little thinner and make him a bodysuit but most of the armor fits him now.
